Register for 1, 2, or 3 Days of Project Based Learning

Come and join CITY Center for Collaborative Learning's JoAnn Groh, principal of Paulo Freire Freedom School and expert in Project Based Learning for three focused days of learning about and implementing Project Based Learning. Project Based Learning (PBL) is when students engage a real-world problem and answer complicated questions. Through their teacher's expert facilitation, students master the content and process skills necessary to create a public demonstration of learning.

CITY Center for Collaborative Learning's Three Day Project Based Learning Workshop will take place from 8:30am to 4:00pm on February 20, 21, and 22, 2019.

A PBIS ticket is simply a vehicle that allows student to carry their memory of our warm smile, pat on the back, and kind words beyond the moment. Learning to use PBIS tickets effectively and appropriately is an essential component of school-wide PBIS.

Reinforcing positive behavior supports social, emotional, and academic achievement.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) promotes positive behavior by building systems for acknowledging students for learning and demonstrating social emotional skills.
Dr. Tim Grivois-Shah is the Director of Professional Learning and Community Engagement at CITY Center for Collaborative Learning, and provides training to schools implementing PBIS.

Connecting Students to Their World

Students at CITY Center for Collaborative Learning schools learn through rigorous hands-on projects inside the classroom and throughout Southern Arizona and beyond. Click here for ideas for place-based learning opportunities based on expeditions taken by Paulo Friere Freedom School's middle school learners.
