Simply put, without your support we could not have continued our important work around the globe to secure a future for endangered turtles and tortoises. Look at what we accomplished together in 2018:

4,581 hatchling Diamondback Terrapins released along coastal New Jersey, in partnership with the Terrapin Nesting Project
Gave shelter to 134 animals confiscated from the illegal animal trade
Assisted in the triage of 10,000 poached Radiated Tortoises in Madagascar
Hatched 151 Endangered turtles and tortoises at our Conservation Center in Southern California
Educated over 12,000 children in NYC on native turtles and ecosystems
Reached over 5 million people through social media in 45 countries

But most importantly, we've protected 50,000 across 5 countries.

In addition, you empower local people. The guardians and rangers who patrol our land are local people with strong connections to the environment. Working to protect their native flora and fauna gives them economic support and helps them shape the future of their communities. From our invasive plant mitigation team in South Africa to the forest guardians in Mexico, thank you!

Wildlife Trade Update

The Turtle Conservancy continues to assist the US Fish and Wildlife Service in triage management of confiscated turtles and tortoises from the illegal wildlife trade. Galapagos Expedition

TC board member, Dr. Russell Mittermeier, and TC veterinarian, Dr. James Liu, went to the Galapagos Islands this past month, taking donors on a trip of a lifetime. In partnership with Lindblad Expeditions, the two took travelers through six islands, exploring the evolutionary wonders of the tortoises, birds, and more...
