It's hard to be brave alone.
We are so thankful for the community, near and far, that has grown and become Our Village.
Our Village is made up of grandmothers fighting for future generations of this world. It is leaders who use their network to be a voice for the voiceless, whether in Uganda or abroad. Our Village is made up of those who pray and give of themselves so that someone else won't have to struggle alone.
Our Village is not about empty handouts, short-term band-aids, or one group of people saving another. It is about people partnering with one another and believing that God can use 'little people' to bring change in the world.
Thanks to Our Village:
Over 450 students attend our primary school, receiving a quality education. Over 400 youth attend our Equip conference and receive entrepreneurship, leadership and faith-based mentoring. Also, over 50 youth are able to go to high school, trades school, or College/University. Over 100 families have received training in agriculture and tailoring. Over a dozen families have been able to start small businesses and can now better provide for their families.
Finally, in 2017, 30% of our operating expenses were funded through income generated within Uganda. This percentage has been steadily growing each year as we continue to invest in Uganda. As we are about to close 2018, we are looking forward to reflecting how much further we have come!
