President's Apology to Wade Butler

Your Alberta Sailing Association Board for 2019

As President, I failed to thank Wade Butler (GSC & CYC) for this outstanding service as Treasurer in the 2018 season. I am going to quote from my report at the ASA AGM:
"Wade Butler – Treasurer – deserves recognition beyond any that I can articulate for his role was particularly challenging, though with persistence and far too many hours, he has tackled the financials and wrestled them into a more modern format plus brought in electronic banking – the 21st century!"
The ASA Board would have really struggled if Wade had not agreed to take on the role of Treasurer. Thankfully, Wade brought in a new accounting program and sorted through many years of paperwork, though through that process, I feel that we drained him of his enthusiasm for accounting.
I cannot thank you enough Wade and please accept my sincere public apology for failing to thank you in the original ASA December Newsletter. You are an outstanding individual and your hours of work did not go unnoticed -- you are worth your weight in antimatter (for those who are unaware of the approximate cost of antimatter it is only a mere $62.5 trillion per gram).
Wade, I look forward to seeing you sailing in 2019!
Thank you very much again, Wade!!
