Family Nights Out at Moe's
Our January Family Night Out is four days long! Bring the printed fliers given to students at school to get $3 off your meal any day from Wednesday, Jan. 9 through Saturday, Jan. 12 at Moe's Southwest Grill, 7850 Alexander Place (Brier Creek). Hilburn Skate Night this Friday
The next 5th grade D.C. trip fundraiser will be a Skate Night on Friday, January 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at United Skates of America, 2901 Trawick Road. Admission is only $5 (normally $7.50) and skate rental is $3.50. All Hilburn students, families, friends are invited to attend the skate night! Those attending to support the 5th grade fundraiser must identify as Hilburn attendees in order to pay the discounted $5 admission. We need at least 51 attendees in order to earn 50% back on the admission fee. There will be a pizza party that night for the class with the most attendees!

Geography Bee at Hilburn
The National Geographic Geography Bee is coming to Hilburn! Ms. Boop, a middle school teacher, will be sponsoring the Geo Bee! The Geo Bee is open to ALL students in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The preliminary written test will take place on Tuesday, January 15 starting at 8:15 a.m. and lasts for about 30 minutes.
The top 10 students with the highest scores from the preliminary test will get to compete in the finalist round on Thursday, January 24 starting at 8:15 a.m. This round will be a similar style to a spelling bee. From this round, we will get our final winner. The final winner for all of Hilburn will take their placement test for the State Geo Bee on Friday, January 25 from 11:15 am.-12:15 p.m.
If you have any questions about the Geo Bee, you can email Ms. Boop at lboop@wcpss.net. All students who want to participate should tell Ms. Boop by Friday, January 11 at 3 p.m. There are study packets available in Ms. Boop's room. You can pick them up before or after school!

Walking Wednesday is Jan. 9

Hilburn Girls on the Run
Hilburn Girls on the Run club registration has begun! Read all about it in this flier.
The season runs from the week of Feb. 4 through the week of April 22. The GOTR 5k will be held Saturday, April 27. Registration opened Jan. 4 at www.gotrtriangle.org.
At Hilburn, Girls on the Run club will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. For information, email Danielle Smith at lsmith18@wcpss.net.
