..ROGER THAT..

Twenty-Eighteen

Fellas, Ladies,

Another busy year comes to an end today. For most of the time, it's been another 12 months of working together, supporting each other, looking out for each other... having each other's back.

I'm relieved (touch wood!) that we've again got to this day without any major injury in the group; despite several millions of km our drivers have done this year, despite the many thousand tonnes of sand and scoria produced and despite the many thousand hours our two busy workshop staff have worked. As far as I'm concerned, this speaks for the professionalism of you all and the solid H&S systems our business has in place.

It's certainly been an interesting year I believe; our GROUP has been joined by two iconic Livestock Transport firms - Neville Brothers and Roydons Mamaranui. The livestock group will now be in a stronger and better position to serve our rural community even better with more trucking capacities which will lead to better dispatching efficiencies.

In 2018, our Logging team managed to secure more drivers and they now have again a sustainable number of trucks working. Our logging yard is now very empty during day time with most of the trucks out working which is a much better sight than what we had in 2017 with half the trucks parked and not producing revenue due to a lack of drivers.

You have all earned a good break and I'm hoping that's what you are having right now; spend some time relaxing and recharging. Our two workshops are currently busy maintaining and repairing the parked up trucks and machinery so they'll be ready for when you return after the break. We value and appreciate their work as it will allow us to keep trucking in the New Year.

Happy New Year to You all! - Roll on Twenty-Nineteen...

Stan

Giving back to the community

Did you know that our GROUP is a major sponsor for several Northland community and charitable groups? So here's another reason to pat yourself on the back because by working for and with the GROUP, you're making this support possible. Well done!
Here are just some examples of amazing organisations that we support:
SOUL FOOD WHANGAREI
Chris Youens and Rochelle Hedges, together with a dedicated group of volunteers, are the amazing people running Soul Food Whangarei. The service provides free meals to an average of 40 to 100 homeless and  locals in need. We love what Chris, Rochelle and their team are doing and are very happy to be able to support their group on an ongoing basis. If you want to find out more about Soul Food, just google "Soul Food Whangarei" or go to their Facebook page "soulfoodwhangarei"
WHANGAREI LIFE EDUCATION TRUST
We have been supporting Life Ed for almost 30 years now as one of their main sponsors. It is so very important to support our next generation and to give them the best head start we can and a good education is certainly a very big part of it!  Their Facebook page "whangareilifeeducationtrust"
The Papermill Charitable Trust
The Papermill is a local charitable trust which provides artists with intellectual disabilities with a workplace where they produce beautiful pieces of art from handmade paper. The Papermill has been going for over 30 years to date. Our GROUP supports The Papermill with their building and property maintenance work. Check out their FB page "thepapermill.co.nz"
HIKURANGI SCHOOL, TE HORO (PIPIWAI) SCHOOL, ...and many others
During the year, we always encounter opportunities to support local schools in areas where our livestock and logging trucks are given work. We usualy do this by supporting their annual galas, helping them with their end of year books, etc. It's a way that allows us to give back to the local communities and a small token of our gratitude towards them for supporting our group in their area.
