The Colts Connection
January 1, 2019
Dear Kennedy Families,

On behalf of all of our staff, we wish you a peaceful, healthy New Year.  Our goals for the upcoming year remain the same - to help every child make high academic achievement and grow into happy, productive, and engaged citizens within their communities.  If you see ways that we can improve as we strive to accomplish these, please let me or Ms. Willhite know.

With thanks,

Laurie Putnam

Cold Weather Arrives

Please be sure to send your child with warm clothing now that winter weather is here.  Our students go out to recess provided the temperatures and wind chills are above zero.  Hats, mittens or gloves, boots, and a winter jacket are necessities.  If you need any help obtaining these items, please let me, Ms. Willhite, Nurse Vos, or Ms. O'Hare know.

District Severe Winter Weather Protocols

Please be sure to review our district protocols in the event of a severe weather event. This information is available on our website homepage, under Quick Links -- Weather Announcements.  You may also click HERE

Staff Updates

Mr. Beneke returns to the classroom full time this week.  We wish Ms. Freed all the best in her new assignment at Oak Hill and extend sincere thanks for her work with our students.  Mr. Beneke is in full health and excited to return to the classroom.

Mr. Stuber has taken a leave of absence due to unexpected medical issues.  We expect his return following March break.  We have posted for a long call guest teacher and hope to have someone hired soon.

Our Classrooms

Reteaching School Wide Expectations

As students return to school this week, we will reteach our school wide expectations of Kind, Safe, Responsible behaviors.  When our students meet these expectations, our learning environment is more productive and allows for increased instructional engagement.  Please, partner with us to reinforce these expectations at home this week.
