Fajita Fiesta for Kids Ministry Teachers and Leaders
Who: All Current Kingdom Kids Volunteers & Spouses
What: Fajita lunch catered by La Fiesta
Where: MAC
When: Sunday, January 27 at 11:30 am (or immediately following the 2nd service)
Why: Free Food, Fun and Fellowship!
Your Own Kids & Youth: Babies-6th grade: food and fun in the kids’ bldg.; Youth: food and fun in the youth game room

Come for great food and fellowship. There is no “agenda” … just a time for us to thank you for serving so faithfully. We will have drawings for several amazing door prizes.

Family Dedication Orientation and Service 
Family Dedications are faith milestones that we celebrate on select Sunday mornings throughout the year. To participate in a Family Dedication, you must first attend an orientation session. This informational class will focus on what a dedication is, as well as provide you with some excellent tools and resources for leading your child. Our next orientation class is January 20 during the 10:30 hour, and the next Dedication Service is January 27. Please RSVP online here. 

One Sweet Night
Friday, February 22
Just for dads (or granddads, uncles, etc.) and their daughters, ages birth-6th grade! Come make special memories in a sweet wonderland overflowing with all things pink, sparkly and girly. This special night will include a horse and carriage ride, a photo spot, a meaningful craft, dinner, dessert, and more! Tickets go on sale February 3 in the Atrium of the Children’s Building.

Teachers Needed!
Do you love children and desire to see them come to know the Lord? Your Children’s Ministry has a need for teachers in a few of our preschool classes. Come be part of what God is doing in the hearts and lives of kids! Please see Barbra or call her this week at 254.772.9696.

On January 15, Devo starts at 8:00 pm in Room A200. This is our college and young adult weekly worship service that meets every Tuesday night. We are kicking off with the series titled “Living the Way.” This series teaches college and young adults the patterns of a disciple life.


Winter 50+ Adult Rally

8:00 am, Latham Springs
The Winter 50+ Adult Rally is happening January 10 at Latham Springs. The bus will leave from the south parking lot at 8:00 am. The cost is $8.00, and you can sign up with Tracy Wallace, twallace@firstwoodway.org or sign up here.


84 Runners New Year’s 5K

8:00 am, Waco Running Co.
Runners and walkers, join us Saturday, January 5 for a 5k walk/run along the river, starting at the Waco Running Co. (700 Franklin Ave). Win some fun door prizes, learn how to be a better runner, and shop the store as you run or walk your way into a healthier year! No need to sign up – just show up and join us for this free event! Come join us as we serve Mission Waco on MLK Day, January 21. There will be several projects that we will be doing in the community. More details coming soon. 

Caritas of Waco
Come serve at Caritas of Waco on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Next opportunities: January 10 and 24 at 9:00 am.

Breakfast at the Meyer Center
We are cooking breakfast at the Meyer Center, Friday, January 11 at 6:00 am. Come join us as we serve the least of these.

Welcome Team - Serve at First Woodway
As we start 2019, we are expecting to see new faces coming through our doors here at First Woodway and we would love to have more smiling faces waiting to greet these guests. If you are interested in finding an easy way to get involved and serve, join the Welcome Team! We have multiple options where you can serve: golf carts, Kids ministry greeter, red wagon team, main building guide, or as a greeter inside the Worship Center or The Venue. We’d love for you to get involved in this incredible ministry of hosting our guests and members each week. Contact Ronny Higgins if you’d like more information about serving.

New Member Workshop

New Member Workshop is the place to learn more about the First Woodway family. It is a Sunday luncheon where you will learn about our values, beliefs, governance, ministries, and how you can best take part in the congregation. While the class is geared toward those interested in joining the church, all are welcome to attend: visitors, members, and those wanting to know more about what we believe. Christian Writers Workshop Kick-Off

Our featured guest speaker this year is author and speaker, Jonathan Pitts, who will share about: Writing from the Heart – Finding Motivation in Story, Authenticity and Vulnerability.
