Dear Friends,

As we finish out 2018 I want to share how grateful I am to all of you who have made this past year a most memorable one. This year featured 20 performances of works from my catalogue, including world premiere performances of:

Risala, for orchestra, commissioned by the Princeton Symphony/Columbus Symphony

Hawa, for orchestra, written for the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra

Azwaj, for Pierrot ensemble, commissioned by the Utah Arts Festival for Sinfonia Salt Lake

String Quartet, commissioned
for the Lydian String Quartet at Brandeis University

Nashwa, for saxophone quartet, written for the Donald Sinta Quartet

This past year, I am proud to have continued to grow prior relationships with several organizations and musicians through performances of new and existing works in my catalogue, including the Columbus Symphony and Princeton Symphony (both conducted by Rossen Milanov), violinist Ambra Casonato, pianist Ava Nazar, and trumpeter Theo Van Dyck. I would also like to acknowledge and thank the many new collaborators to 2018 who have brought my music alive, and look forward to grow together musically in 2019 and beyond:

Ali Moraley (violin)
Carillon Quartet
Donald Sinta Quartet
Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra
Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra (cond. Stilian Kirov)
Locrian Chamber Players
Lydian String Quartet
Mai Ohishi (piano)
Quartet Nouveau
Shotaro Tojima (violin)
Sinfonia Salt Lake
Symphony in C (cond. Stilian Kirov)
I'm grateful to continue to pursue what I love and urge you to do the same for as long as you can.

With best wishes to a happy and healthy new year!
Saad
