Pompette is a newsletter that's curated to help you
live through your senses.

Happy 2019! Feel the fresh energy in the air. Don’t put to much pressure on yourself to come up with a whole bunch of new year's resolutions. Get focused on a few goal(s) that you can knock out in in the first few months of the year to give you some momentum to keep you moving forward.

You got this. Let all the new energy flow through you and go get em!

Tipsy Tarot

The week’s pairing is Crystal Head Aurora Vodka and Santa Muerte Tarot. I chose this tarot deck due to the changing energy from 2018 to 2019. Skulls represent living life to the fullest and going big. The deck pairs perfectly with Crystal Head Aurora Vodka. The skull bottle is created as a symbol of life, reflecting power, and enlightenment. The bottle and deck are the perfect pairing.

The cards that have dropped for this week are five of pentacles, four of pentacles, and king of swords.

The five of pentacles is here to remind you to have faith. Maybe at the end of the year you had lost a little faith in yourself. It was a bumpy challenging year so of course a part of you was exhausted from all of the challenges. Time to pick up your self-esteem and dust it off. Let go of 2018 so that you can let in all the things meant for you in 2019.

Now let’s chat money shall we. Of course you want more cha ching. You probably have even sworn to get down to business with your finances in this new year. This is a good move. Do yourself a favor and don’t compare your bank account to a friend or family member. Instead of worrying about other people’s money, put the energy on your own. Do what you have to do to build up a “fluffy” savings account. Believe in the abundance and it will show up.

Give a fist pump to the king of swords who showed up to remind you that you have everything that you need to success. Tap into your personal power. Be ready to unleash the power into your goals and dreams. So many opportunities await.

Long story short:
Even when things look like they aren’t working out, keep the faith. You are a bee and money will be your honey. Abundance will show up in many forms. Long story short, personal power is the key ingredient to getting what you want, always pump it up. Blessed be.

Eating Through Ithaca, NY

People always want to visit NYC, but New York has other locations that are worth a visit. The Finger Lake Region has become one of the hottest destinations  in the US.  Ever hear of Ithaca, NY?

Years ago when I was thinking about colleges, I found out about a town in New York called Ithaca. It may seem strange that a girl from Houston who had never spent time around snow would pick a random town in New York. However I had my eye on Ithaca College which is known for their theater program not to mention Cornell is also in the city. Long story short, it’s a college town.

I finally made it to Ithaca while on a press trip through the Finger Lakes Region. I was rather excited to explore the city that I was so curious. The city is on Cayuga Lake and near several waterfalls. While it’s a small town, it’s quite charming and offers quite a bit of cultural activities with a bustling social scene. Some famous people from the city are Alex Haley, Carl Sagan, and Rod Serling.

I had the pleasure of staying at La Tourelle Hotel and Spa while on my visit. The family owned hotel is on 70 acres just a few minutes from downtown Ithaca. The room was cozy and quaint. They make a a wicked breakfast.  I didn’t have time to go to the spa, but did get a tour. It looked and smelled amazing. They make their own aromatherapy products. It’s the perfect place to stay when in the the area. Great for romantic getaways and girlfriend getaways, both things we need more of

What you may be surprised to find out is that Ithaca is a city for foodies. I had the chance to taste some of the delicious food in the city by going on a food tour with Ithaca Is Foodies. We went to some of the hottest spots, including Moosewood, the iconic spot that made eating vegetarian food a big deal.

Kitchen Magick:

Do you love airplane food? I personally can’t think of anyone who does, except for Chrissy Teigen. Though I do confess to falling in love with the burger on Cathay Pacific in first class. That’s one good burger. However..food on an airline tends to be shady. Thanks to United Airlines, you will be able to make airline food at home. They have a new cookbook out with recipes from their chefs. Hmm...next time you aren’t traveling but want to feel like you are on a plane this is the book for you.

Sorceress On Spirits:

So many wonderful things to say about gin. It’s a magickal spirit with all of the herbs and flowers that go into it, plus there are so many gins to try from around the globe.  Push that gin and tonic aside for someting a little more fun. Having a gin in your home bar means you can create great cocktails anytime the mood hits you. Let the gin games begin.

Charming Cheese:

There’s a company that takes waste from cheese and turns it into vodka. Why didn’t I think of that?! For every 10 pounds of milk a cheesemaker brings in, nine pounds will remain as whey. This magick in a bottle is called ‘Wheyward Spirit”. It’s truly farm to flask. I wonder how this vodka taste. If it’s origin it from cheese, it’s got to be good, right?!
