Joe Iadanza; Mayberry
guest host, Bliss Bowen

TICKETS
Born of Italian immigrants and union activists, New York native Joe Iadanza understands the passionate struggle of the American dream. Joe’s music is rooted in classic folk: honest and raw. His 2008 debut CD, Traveling Salesman was heralded by folk radio, as was his follow up, All In Good Time, in 2010. Max Schwartz and Abbi Berry met as members of the Grammy Camp — a program made up of 30 high school students chosen by the Grammy Foundation to perform a week’s worth of gigs in Los Angeles, including the official Grammy Celebration at the LA Convention Center. They met again as featured members of the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, an all-star group put together by the Monterey Jazz Festival where they performed around Monterey County and a two-week tour in Japan. As Mayberry, they draw influence from Max’s background in bluegrass, Abbi’s love for pop, and their formal education in jazz.

Hank Mehren Trio

TICKETS
The Hank Mehren Trio play an array of standards, from swing hits to post-bop classics, as well as original compositions. Hank’s sound is a product of his classical background and love for jazz, blues, and the amazing songwriters that paved the way for many of his musical influences, such as Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, and Thelonious Monk. He began his endeavor in jazz at Pasadena City College where he was mentored by local greats, Riner Scivally and David Arnay, before moving on to Cal State Northridge where he studied with Matt Harris, Gary Fukushima, and Tamir Hendelman. Bryan Dedlow is an LA based guitarist who studied with renowned classical and jazz guitarist Ron Berman and subsequently Larry Koonse at Cal Arts. Jesse Ajamian moved to LA from Northern California in 2011. Beginning at PCC, he studied with great jazz musicians such as Ralph Penland and Dave Tull. He later attended CSUN where he was mentored by Gene Coye.
The Blue Guitar room is located at Arroyo Seco Golf Course, 1055 Lohman Lane, South Pasadena, CA. Adjacent to the Blue Guitar is the Arroyo Seco Grill which has food, wine, and full bar. You can bring your own bottle for a $10 corkage fee. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. The restaurant is open until 8:30pm.
