GGD Newsletter For January 1, 2019

2018 was truly a wild ride! We did lots of traveling (Peru, Jamaica, Dallas/Fort Worth, Baltimore, Detroit, Orlando, Miami, and more), and invested a TON of cash. In fact, this year we invested more money than ever, by far. We were able to do this through a combination of savvy reductions in our cost of living and strategic moves to increase our income. Overall this past year was a HUGE success and I predict 2019 will be even better!

In between hopping on and off planes and catching up with friends and family over the holidays, we were able to squeeze in some time to put out a new article this month. How would you like to save for only 5 years and still retire a millionaire? It may seem like an impossible task, but if you're willing to continue working, it’s actually relatively easy to achieve. Take a look to see if this strategy is for you.

Monthly Financial Update (Full Breakdown):
If you watched any financial news this month you're probably aware that the performance of the market was historically bad. As a result, the value of our portfolio suffered a significant pullback. This is simply the nature of the beast. When you invest in the market you've got to have the discipline to ride the roller coaster. Losses on paper always turn into gains, eventually. This month our net worth dropped by -6.84%. We have now saved 45.7% of what we need to be financially independent.
