A Message to You from the
Barbolian Fields Fan Club Headquarters
January 1, 2019

Greetings, Friends! Happy New Year!

Just a quick note to kick-start the new year.  Mostly, I just wanted to say thank you for being a member of the Fan Club. Many of you on this list have been following for years and have watched it evolve (this is my 10th year on the blog!). I so appreciate your friendship and support! To the newcomers - Welcome! and thanks for joining! We are still evolving and helping one another. I always enjoy hearing from you and learning about what you have growing. A special shout out of thanks to those who purchased Solexx, produce, or things from the shop this last year. You keep us going! I am truly grateful.

New on the Blog: 2018 Highlights; 2019 Goals, Strategies, and New Beginnings. This was our last post on the last day of 2018: a brief summary of the old and some ideas for the new. Truly, the year went by so fast and we were so busy, I rarely found time to post what was happening.

One of my goals this year is to post more frequently - and also in various formats. I'd like to add a "Biotime Log" feature, a term inspired by Maddy Harland, which would involve more frequent garden updates and photos. Does that sound like something you'd be interested in following? (along with garden tips, tricks, & foibles, of course!) I'd also like to share some of the garden crafts I've been making, interesting concoctions from the kitchen, book reviews, and perhaps some thoughts on how we can all help to heal our planet.

So many plans for the coming year! To-do lists, focus areas, creative spins--almost everything involves getting down in the dirt and/or up close and personal to this amazing world we live in.

As Geoff Lawton, renowned permaculturist, recently said, "All the world's problems can be solved in a garden," and I truly believe that to be true. So without further ado...

Here's a toast: To Life, Gardening, Joy, and Prosperity! I wish you abundance in the new year!

P.S. I am an affiliate with Chelsea Green Publishing - the leading  publisher of sustainable living books since 1985. They carry Maddy Harland's "Biotime Log," so if you purchase through my link (if I did it right), I receive a little advertising kickback at no extra cost to you (thank you!). I am very excited because I recently WON (yay!) a copy of the Log through the Permies website, which is such a portal to all things permaculture & homesteading. No affiliate there; just sharing the love.
