Please read this email carefully. These are your instructions for submitting your post-match report, which we need in order to process your match in a timely manner, and your evaluation survey.

If this is your first time in NewsMatch or you want a refresher on reporting, please plan to attend next Wednesday's webinar, where we can answer any questions you have.

Finally, the last email in your campaign toolkit is a thank you message to donors that we suggest you send on Friday. Instructions are at the bottom of today's email.

How to Submit Your Post-Match Report
In order to receive your match, we need to know how much you’ve raised! Please download the match cover sheet from your Resources folder and fill it out. Then return to Submittable, log in with the account you originally used for your NewsMatch application, and complete the new Post-Match Report.

Detailed instructions can be found in the Post-Match Reporting Resources folder.

The Post-Match Report deadline is Jan. 23. 
How to Submit Your NewsMatch Evaluation
Like last year, we invite you to complete a 15-20 minute Evaluation Survey, which will help us continue to improve NewsMatch. This year, for example, we added features such as the new member bonus based on your feedback.

Find and complete the survey here.

The survey is anonymous, so please tell us what worked and what we can do better. As an extra thank you, we’ll also select at random three organizations that submit the survey by Jan. 23 to receive a free registration and travel stipend for the INN Days 2018 conference.

The NewsMatch Evaluation deadline is Jan. 23.

We try to make all this as easy as possible, but we’re happy to help if you run into questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out early, so you’re in good shape by the Jan. 23 deadline. Here are a few resources you can use in preparing your report:
  • Webinar: Your Post-Match Report Questions Answered. Christina and Jason will be holding a reporting refresher webinar on Jan. 9 at 1pm ET. We'll go step-by-step and answer any post-NewsMatch questions you may have. Use this link on Jan. 9 to join the webinar.
  • Bonus Eligibility. Not sure what bonuses you are eligible for? Check out our handy reference guide.
  • Donation Eligibility. Not sure what donations are eligible to be matched? Review the FAQ on NewsMatch.org for guidance on individual donations and how to count new recurring gifts.

Step 1: Send out Email #12 on Jan. 4
Close the loop with your donors and send them a thank you email. Let them know how your campaign went and inform them of any milestones or ambitions for 2019. 

Primary message: We are grateful and humbled by your support.

Step 2: Promote on social media 
Use the sample posts at the bottom of this document or write your own Tweets and Facebook posts. Encourage the reporters or editors who are mentioned in your pitch to also amplify the pitch on their own platforms. 

We have a MailChimp template, an HTML template, or regular copy that you can use to build your email. Don't forget to update all donation links/buttons and replace the Hub's logo with your own! 

Remember: 
  • Customize the sections in red text 
  • Replace the News Revenue Hub logo with your own 
  • Update the subject line
