Here’s How We Made a Lasting Impact in December 2018

Think Tank Empowerment Program Focuses on Arab World and Potential Synergies
December 3-7, 2018 - Dayat Al Roumi, Morocco

LIMS Director Ms. Kristelle Mardini participated in an event, where 8 think tanks from 8 countries participated in an empowerment program, where she talked about the work LIMS is doing in Lebanon, putting focus on the proposed electricity solution. Ms. Mardini pointed out that the most suitable way to improve the Arab world is by implementing successfully-tested solutions already used on a global scale and customizing them to fit each country's society. She also talked about how government interventions in the Arab world failed and new policies have to be adopted in the future.

Arab Liberty Festival: What Role Think Tanks Play in the Arab World's Democratic Transition?
December 7-8 , 2018 - Rabat, Morocco

Ms. Mardini attended, along with Arab experts, entrepreneurs and decisions makers, the 4^th edition of the Arab Liberty Festival. Ms. Mardini talked about the Lebanese experience during the 1940s and how the founding fathers were able to ensure a democratic transition, only by liberating the society and limiting government intervention in the economy. She also noted that think tanks are now able to make an impact in their countries by providing sound and feasible economic solutions.

LIMS' Team Shows Christmas Spirit
December 21, 2018 - Amar Seaside Restaurant, Beirut, Lebanon

All of the staff at LIMS gathered together to enjoy a holiday dinner with their guests Mr. Lee and Mrs. Alexandra Benham from the Ronald Coase Institute.

LIMS Welcomes Aboard Social Media and Community Manager
November 19, 2018 - LIMS' Offices, Tripoli, Lebanon

Alissa Abboud joined LIMS in November 2018, she is responsible for managing and engaging LIMS' online community and the think tank's social media presence.
She is a fresh graduate with a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Balamand. She is currently studying digital marketing online, in order to obtain her master's degree.
