This first Saturday of the new year Thalia teaches Class to Jam at Sudio 100

The Class and Jam this Saturday (only this week) starts one hour later!!! So, the Class starts a 15.00 and the Jam will start at 17.00 till 19.00 ☆ and will be in the small studio upstairs > Bali  Zaal < use that Bell >

 Contact Class with Thalia Laric In this class we pay special attention to the role of the hands in contact improvisation. As the part of the body that is most articulate at communicating through touch we will let them be our guide. Noticing how the hands can easily shape around different structures and modulate their tone and intention, we draw this information into the entire body. We will explore how the hands can read movement and how they can be used to clearly direct motion, intention and quality. Experiencing the hands as receptive, perceptive and active communicators of sensory information, we will have a blueprint for dancing with each other with a heightened sense of communication through touch. 


Thalia Laric is a dance artist and teacher from Cape Town, South Africa. She studied Contact Improvisation with Nancy Stark Smith, Lucia Walker and Jori Snell. She is interested in dance improvisation and real-time composition and collaborates frequently in performance projects. She holds a Masters degree in Choreography from Rhodes University and teaches Contact Improvisation in Amsterdam and Cape Town.
