Feliz Navidad!
We may be a day late, but here from Studio Del Creador and Eagle's Nest Church, we wish you and yours a very merry Christmas!

December is full of many colorful Christmas crafts, fiestas, tamales, hot fruit punch and breaking candy-filled, homemade pinatas… but most of all, it’s full of COMMUNITY. We enjoyed festivities and celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus with our church’s Women’s Group, Francisco’s Soccer Team, Eagle’s Nest’s church and Studio Del Creador’s students. One of our favorite parts was being able to give gifts to the smaller children in our ministries.

Another highlight was heading to the dark alleys of Tecate after our candlelight service and handing out hot "Arroz con Leche," hygiene kits, blankets, rain ponchos, and warm clothes to the less remembered of our community. It was especially exciting watching our church members step out in boldness as they shared the gospel, prayed for the sick and encouraged the hopeless.
Gratefulness in middle of Grief.
Our neighborhood was stricken by violence and hate the week before Thanksgiving. It heightened everyone's level of awareness as well as the level of fear. As we prayed through the situation, the Lord put it on our heart to host a free Thanksgiving meal in our driveway. Our church, Eagle's Nest, came up alongside us and made the vision a reality. We spent the week walking and inviting our neighbors door-to-door. Many seemed hesitant to even open their door due to the elevated fear caused by the recent violence. But for others, our kind gesture spoke multitudes of love, leading them into a freedom from fear.

Thanksgiving rolled around and we were able to love on our grieving neighborhood. As we ate, we gave the opportunity for everyone to share something about what they are grateful for. One man stood up and boldly shared his involvement in witchcraft, which gave us direct insight into how to better strategically pray for our neighbors. We shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with them, causing a few people to renew their relationship.

While Thanksgiving is predominately a holiday celebrated in America, it was the perfect opportunity for us to shower our neighbors with love in a time of desperation and turmoil.
Who doesn’t just adore those sweet, first baby smiles and everything baby? We sure do! In the end of November we had the great privilege to dedicate little Yael Alexander to God and cover his parents Fernando and Karen with prayer as they embark on this great journey called parenthood. Yael will be the first generation in his family line to be raised in a home that loves and serves Jesus and we couldn’t be more proud of their parents!
Night of Dreams and Goals #2019.
With 2018 coming to an end, it only seems appropriate to begin dreaming for the new year. And while we have been dreaming into 2019 for a while now as a ministry, we saw the perfect opportunity to usher others into their dreams as well. So on December 14th we held a "Dream & Goal Night" at our house, hosted by our Intern, Sarah Matson, from Clearview, WA. Everyone was given a safe space where they could pray, seek the Lord and share their dreams. For some, it was the first time they did anything like this, voicing their hidden dreams for the first time with others.

It was wonderful hearing them reflect on the things they had done well or accomplished in 2018--which for many was their first year in church. Things were said like, "I learned to steer my character and not use it to harm others," "I learned how to become a better mother" and "I got married to the love of my life."

And as they dreamed into 2019 we heard things like, "I want to learn to better steward my money and resources," "I want to learn the piano," and "I want to go back to school and finish my studies."

Sarah encouraged them to write out their goals and will be doing follow-up one-on-one meetings with many of them, to cheer them on through 2019. Yay for dreaming!
Yay for growth!

Walking other’s through trauma is a part of everyday ministry for us and we have to be very conscious about remembering to care for ourselves as we care for others. This past August, I sought out a scholarship to join a small women’s group in LA called, “Freedom Academy.” During the next 13 weeks I traveled to LA once a week to sit amidst women God is using in a great variety of ministries and to learn effective ways to walk others through trauma and into Freedom in Jesus.
Thank you to Calvary Chapel Lake Stevens and their creative crew for making this amazing video! We are so grateful for your support and commitment to Studio Del Creador!
