Happy Holidays to you and yours! We wish you joy and peace during this special time of year. The children are enjoying special events, and perhaps a visit from Santa, due in part, to your generous contributions and support. Thank you for your kindness as we work to help the children who are in desperate need.

In this newsletter, we have lots of updates:

  • It’s Not Too Late

  • Holiday Wine Tasting

  • Teacher’s Day at Anh Linh School

It’s Not Too Late!

The end of the year is the time when many of us assess what good causes we can contribute to--and there are many.

We hope that you will include us and the free schools we support in Vietnam. As we all know, children who have no education are destined to remain at the bottom of the society.  It's simply a matter of birth. Anh Linh Love School and Viet Anh Primary School offer opportunities for impoverished children to learn and thrive.

Donations go a long way in Vietnam, so please consider donating during this year-end request.  These kids have great hearts and minds and spirits that just need a hand up. We can do that-with your help!  Thank you.

Holiday Wine Tasting

Oh what a night! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Holiday Wine Tasting. The food was delectable, the wine was flowing, and lots of fun was had by all. The funds raised support Bridges to Learning as we fulfill our mission to help the children in Vietnam who desperately need our help. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the wine they ordered, as it was a record-breaking wine sale with sales of over $6,000!

THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN WITHOUT THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE. A special thank you goes to:

  • Joe and Kate Campo from South Lyndale Liquors;

  • Joe Kotnik from Worldwide Cellars and Rootstock Wine Co.

  • Sally Whitham from Classic Provisions.

  • Karen Jansen, Phillip Phan and our other volunteers.

School News

Teacher’s Day at Anh Linh School!

Teachers Day is a formal day of recognition for teachers all across Vietnam. Anh Linh students wrote poems, offered small gifts or flowers, and put on performances for their teachers. Former students returned to Anh Linh school to honor the teachers who changed their lives. It is an annual celebration of teachers, who are highly respected in the culture. Here are a few of our favorite photos, check out more on our facebook page.

Art Al Fresco!

Fresh air + Sunshine + Beautiful architecture + Art supplies + A bunch of creative kiddos = Beautiful art + Well rounded kids

Check out the art, and the artists, who are making the most of Saigon’s landmarks.

“Computers Change Lives”  Fundraising Campaign

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Give to the Max and Giving Tuesday fundraiser, focusing on purchasing computers for the new computer classroom at Anh Linh School. We have raised $5,000 of our goal of $6,600 for 30 new computers.  The computers will allow the students to expand their knowledge and their horizons.

Jerri’s January Trip to Vietnam

Here’s a note from Jerri about her upcoming trip:

"I am very excited about going back to Vietnam after 4 years.  At the rate that changes are taking places in Saigon it will be a new adventure rather than a visit to my former home.

Visiting our schools, seeing the kids, connecting with the principals and teachers is the most important and delightful part of my journey. I’m looking forward to lots of stories, photos and hugs!

This will be my first visit to Viet Anh Primary School in Da Teh and I’m excited to learn about the school, the children and their lives.

I can take cards, photos and small gifts for anyone who wants to send something to their sponsored child. I just need it by January 6th to get it packed."
