Best Ways to Keep Winter Cold's and Allergies Away

Allergies are a very common issue now among people especially children.
Some triggers that cause allergies to develop in the winter time is the fact that most people spend more time indoors with their windows sealed and ventilation reduced causing old dust, dander and mold spores in the air.
Certain trees such as Cedar release pollen during the winter and create allergies in some people. In this case as well fresh cut evergreen wreaths and decorations can cause allergies in some.
The most common allergy symptoms are sneezing, congestion, runny nose, red eyes, and fatigue. A cold causes sore throat, fever, body aches, and itchy watery eyes. Allergies are a continuous longer issue, where a cold normally last about a week.

Get Rid of Mildew:
Showers and washing machines love mildew. Towel drying out  your washing machine after using it can reduce this from developing.
Always use your ventilation fan in the bathroom after showering.
Use a dehumidifier in the house to keep humidity below 40%.
Tea Tree oil and Eucalyptus help reduce mildew from forming as well in the house.

Limit Dander and Dust:
Dust and dander and dust mites live everywhere and are almost impossible to eliminate completely. However, a HEPA air filter in the house helps eliminate them. Also vacuuming once a week with a HEPA filter helps. Wash bed sheets once a week as well to prevent buildup on the bed.

Immune Boost:
If you are prone to allergies during the winter season you can always supplement during this time of year as well to prevent the cold and allergies.

Cascade Health Clinic recommends Vitamin C, Elderberry Syrup, Silver and Oregano or Zinc. Stop by to stock up to prevent getting sick this winter! At Cascade Health Clinic we also offer individualized herbal tinctures for your needs this winter!
