Anne was desperate for help. She was trying to get her incarcerated, double-amputee son wheelchair parts so he wouldn’t tip over. Nobody in the Department of Corrections seemed to care. Luckily, through word of mouth, she heard about the National Incarceration Association (NIA) and Momma Kate.
The NIA provides a unique combination of resources and compassion to help desperate families navigate the justice system. First and foremost, we answer their call, we then quickly gather information and assess their needs. During this initial interview we also help calm them down and give them hope. We believe that is why they say things like “God Bless you!”
Our unique relationships with agency heads and our pool of resources allowed us to help Anne and her son quickly. He received his wheelchair parts that same week she reached out. Something that no one else would do, the NIA did.
Anne and her son were not just numbers to us, they were part of our family and we used our core values of empathy, diligence and responsibility to help Anne help her son.
Our Mission is to provide the community of families, loved ones and advocates of the incarcerated, reliable information and resources to help them during their difficult journey. We invite you to be a part of this mission with your tax-deductible gift to the NIA today.
You can donate online by going to our website or mailing a check to The National Incarceration Association, Inc. P.O. Box 4033, Alpharetta, GA 30023.
On behalf of Anne and the thousands of other families the NIA has helped, we thank you.
