Everyday Magic/PTA Presents: Children & Technology
Tmr. 1/24 (5:45 - 7:15pm)

Children and Technology –
10 Most Important Things to Know to Help Your Family Stay Balanced
Technology is pervasive in the daily lives of our children: helpful in myriad ways but harmful in others. Led by Michelle Kemper, a pediatric occupational therapist, this workshop will de-mystify effects technology has on developing brains and bodies, incorporate the newest research and the most effective strategies for healthy digital hygiene. We will also provide supportive ideas for bolstering non-technology moments for when we need a break from the “glow and gaze” of technological devices.

Thursday, 1/24
5:45pm – 7:15pm (Community Room)
Childcare will be provided as well as dinner for adults and kids.

Please RSVP by 1/20 here or email EverydayMagicInc@aol.com
What Should the PTA Do With Extra $$$$
Our second Annual Giving Campaign was a success! If we stay on track with the rest of our fundraisers this year, we will end the year with a budget surplus. To be prepared, we are asking for your opinion now on how to spend the possible surplus. Please share your opinion in this survey by February 6. Paper copies will be distributed to students as well in a few weeks.

Seeking: New PPP Editor for 2019-20 School Year
We are now in search of new Paw Print Press Editor(s) for the 2019-20 school year. Are you a content writer/editor? Good organizational skills? Familiar with Google Docs? Have experience with MailChimp and/or web-HTML knowledge?

If you have one or more of the skills listed above, please consider taking over the PPP Editor position for the next school year. This position can be filled by one person or a small team.

Without a PPP editor, there will be no weekly newsletter containing announcements of events, introductions of new staff, public recognition of volunteer efforts, reminders of community meetings, updates on vital fundraisers to provide our signature enrichment programs, and more—the stuff that makes our community a community!

Please consider taking on this important Lakeshore Communications role! For more information, please email newsletter@lakeshoreelementary.org.

Volunteer Signups for Leopard Store Shopkeepers (K-2)
Happy New Year, families! Many thanks to the volunteers who have supported the Leopard Store! As some of you may know, the store started last year under the leadership of Mr. Caenepeel, who has since left Lakeshore. True to the Lakeshore spirit, many enthusiastic parents and caregivers have stepped up to keep the store going for Grades K-2 (Grades 3-5 teachers run the store themselves).

The students are thrilled, and teachers genuinely appreciate the support! We encourage YOU to be a part of the positivity in the New Year! Signups are now open for January Leopard Store Shopkeepers "shifts." Time commitment varies by grade from 30-60 mins.

You can sign up here:
Kindergarten: Sign up here
1st Grade: Sign up here
2nd Grade: Sign up here

As Store Shopkeeper you will support PBIS at Lakeshore and share in the good feeling generated by students who are proud of their positive choices. Thank you for helping out!
Leopard Bucks and the Leopard Bucks Store are key to our PBIS program. Leopard Bucks are awarded to students when they make choices that uphold Lakeshore's core values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. A visit to the "store" is an exciting opportunity for students to exchange their hard-earned Leopard bucks for a tangible token of their positive choices.
Want to include something in the next edition? Please complete the PPP Submission Form here bit.ly/pppsubmit no later than Friday at noon with final content. Thank you!
