More of us are suffering with mental health problems and in varying degrees. Getting help is a vital first step towards regaining, and maintaining, good mental health - but it can be hard to ask for help and to know where to go to get support.

Everyone should be able to get a degree of mental health support from their GP practice, however people tell us that current support services don't always meet our mental health needs.

At our next Assembly on the 27 February we'll be starting a conversation about some of the different aspects of mental health and the support that is available locally. See below for further details.

Healthwatch Wandsworth 2018-19 Annual Survey

Take 10 minutes to tell us what is important to you about local health and social care services. The more people we hear from, the better we can prioritise our work, based on your views.

Once we find out what you think, we'll share that information with the people who run our services so that they can change the things that need changing.

Our 2018-19 Annual Survey covers a number of areas of well-being, including physical fitness, mental health and social care services and support. All responses will be considered and may help us find key areas of focus, or need, for the coming year. Your response will be kept anonymous and confidential.

Have Your Say on the Future of St George’s

The development of St George’s new clinical strategy is now well underway. Once agreed (March 2019) it will drive everything the Trust does – from the range of services it provides, to how it invests its resources.

St George's is asking staff and the local community to help develop the strategy and the next and final round of public consultation sessions will take place during February. Attendees will be asked for their views on the future of a particular service that matters to them.

If you would like to attend one of the workshops (details below) or need more information, please email
strategy@stgeorges.nhs.uk. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Light refreshments will be provided.

Goodbye Clive!
Chair of Healthwatch Wandsworth Steps Down

Clive Norris has been part of the Healthwatch Executive since 2013 and was elected Chair in 2016. Over the past 5 years, he has made an invaluable contribution to our work and has helped lead and develop the organisation.

Clive retired from all Healthwatch activities at the end of 2018 in order to devote more time to other interests. He will be greatly missed and we'd like to thank him for the time and energy that he has contributed to our work. We wish him all the best for the future.

Jeremy Cowper (current WCA Chair) will be standing in as Acting Chair for Healthwatch Wandsworth until the role can be permanently filled. In the interim we will be reviewing the responsibilities associated with the role to see whether they can be the shared across the Healthwatch Leadership Team, thereby making it more diverse and inclusive.
