Preventable Deaths - What We Can Do
|
Gateway Nursing is hosting a showing of the film “To Err is Human” to shed light on medical mistakes and how Gateway is preparing future healthcare workers to eliminate mistakes. Community partners will discuss measures they are taking to reduce and eliminate medical mistakes in their facilities.
The documentary will be shown Thursday, January 24 at the Madrigano Auditorium on the Gateway Kenosha Campus. No RSVP is necessary for this free event and light refreshments will be provided by Gateway’s Student Nurse Association. Optional tours of the Inspire Center and the Human Simulator Lab will be available following the movie and panel discussion. Find complete details.

Why Alumni Volunteer (And How You Can Too)
|
“I choose to volunteer specifically for Gateway because it’s a way of me appreciating and thanking Gateway for all it does for its students and employees,” says Manal Nabeel a recent alumni volunteer.“By helping out at events, it gives me an opportunity to meet and greet people, learn about people’s stories, make connections, grow and develop skills that I don’t have. It makes me happy and feel blessed every time I get the opportunity to volunteer.”
Kyle Schmitt has volunteered at numerous alumni and Gateway Foundation events and even spoke at the faculty and staff Employee Learning Day program. Kyle wants to make a difference in his community. “It is interesting to interact with new people. It also helps me grow my confidence. I feel very proud of myself and happy to be part of something. I am grateful for the opportunities that volunteering has provided me.”
