Bow Valley Immigration Partnership

Bow Valley Inclusion Survey – Deadline January 25th
The Bow Valley Immigration Partnership (BVIP) needs your help. From January 16th - 25th, BVIP is conducting a survey on immigrant and non-immigrant wellbeing, participation, and inclusion. This survey is an important part of research that will help shape the next 3 years of settlement, integration, and inclusion work from Lake Louise to Kananaskis.

The Bow Valley Inclusion Survey launches January 16th.

Cross Country Ski Night
Monday, January 28th.  530-8 PM. Canmore Nordic Centre
We are pleased to offer another Community Cross Country Ski evening this season! Join us for an evening learning how to cross country ski and then join us as we explore the Nordic Centre at night! For the CYAN community we have secured $10 rentals from Trail Sports up at the Nordic Centre. Use of the trails at the Nordic Centre are free after 5 PM. 
530 PM - Meet at trail sports to rent your gear for only $10
545-630 PM - Classic Cross Country lesson 
630-745 PM - Free ski - join us as we explore the trails.
8 PM - All rentals must be returned before 8 PM before Trail Sports close
If you have your own skis - join us whenever you'd like! The more the merrier

LEAD – Leadership Certification for Youth

LEAD stands for Leadership, Empowerment, Achieving a Difference. It is a certification program for youth aged 14-16, consisting of 9 modules and a practicum placement supporting recreation programs & camps, community events, or social issues.  Participants build self-esteem and confidence through the learning modules focusing on communication, problem-solving, organization, teamwork and decision-making skills - all while making and working with friends! At the conclusion of the course, participants will graduate and receive a certificate of completion.

If your agency or organization has an upcoming volunteer opportunity you would like advertised on the Volunteer Canmore Facebook page or in the Crag and Canyon free of charge, please email  ldouce@canmore.ca.

Volunteer Drivers Needed
The Canmore FCSS Volunteer Driver Program is in need of some dedicated individuals to join our excellent team of drivers responsible for getting clients (primarily seniors) to their medical appointments out-of-town. (usually Calgary). Potential volunteers require a vehicle in excellent operating condition, a valid drivers license, and a reasonable sense of direction in Calgary. Volunteer drivers will be reimbursed for their gas.

The Bow Valley Interagency meetings are co-hosted by Banff and Canmore FCSS. All community organizations and agencies throughout the Bow Valley are invited to attend to share information and to listen to guest speakers throughout the year discuss issues that are prevalent in our area. For more information on Bow Valley Interagency, please contact Lu Douce, Canmore FCSS 403.678.7136, or Shawn Carr, Banff FCSS 403.762.1255.

Meetings are held 5 times a year, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 3:00-4: 30 pm. Locations alternate between Banff Town Hall and the Canmore Civic Centre
