Glean Network is a growing community of visionary leaders who are reimagining faith. We support the new models they create, which help people live better lives, become better people, and build better worlds, together.

1. START's Courageous Leaders: Flipping the Narrative of Faith in America

Much of the narrative surrounding religion in America is one of scarcity and erosion -- places of worship closing at record rates, attendance at services dwindling, and a growing segment of the population selecting their religious identity as "None."

For the next several newsletters, we'll be telling the stories of the courageous leaders in START who are transforming problems into opportunities by centering their work around the experiences of those they seek to serve. In this edition, we'll hear from current Glean START participants Rev. W. Taft Harris and Drew Rau about their respective ventures.

Rev. W. Taft Harris

"Those who work in ministry often have experiences that parallel secular or marketplace executive leadership skills. Their transition is a strong opportunity to assist them in the translation of these skills from one sector to another. " Read more about Rev. Harris >

Drew Rau

"By recognizing that the people who leave an established tradition are often not losing their sense of spirituality but rather engaging it even more vigorously than before, I saw an opportunity to meet these people where they are rather than lament where they are not." Read more about Drew Rau >

2. Glean Alumus Dr. Kursat Ozenc: Reimagining Rituals for Work

We've learned an incredible amount from our teacher Dr. Kursat Ozenc about the power of ritual from our faith and cultural traditions and how to harness our creativity to re-imagine and re-invigorate them.

That's why we're so excited to pre-order the forthcoming book Kursat co-authored, Rituals for Work: a playbook for individuals, teams, and organizations to bring 50 ways of getting intentional and deliberate about workplace culture.
