Coming soon! New video resources for 2019
One of Paul's aims for 2019 is to produce more videos to support our courses and to add to the website. With this in mind he will be trying to produce a couple a month which will be shared on Facebook, in our D&T newsletter and on the blog. Look out for the first one being released soon.

Did you see these posts on our Facebook page this week?
Our Facebook page has daily D&T updates & resources. If you didn't see this week's updates here's a summary of some of the key posts.:
- Interesting report on trends shaping product design. It includes useful information on what's driving trends, as well as implications for designer and designers. It's a long read, and probably more suitable for older students, but it would be great to include some of this thinking in the run up to the NEA context in June.
- Something else that's useful for when the next cohort start thinking about the NEA to get them to think differently; 10 technologies that might influence the future of fashion - from 3D printing, to AI and biopolymers to designing garments that change shape to have different uses, which monitor health or which fit a range of sizes.
- Short article that refers to a couple of reports that came out last year. If you’re looking for facts, figures and quotes to justify D&T and show it's importance in a world economy, whether it be to SLT or at open evenings, these may be useful. Neither report is a short read but they're worth it if you can find the time - if not a couple of the basics are in this short write up.

GCSE & A Levels: The start of an amazing journey
The dark nights, cold weather, and quickly approaching coursework and exam deadlines make this a challenging term. Don’t let this make you forget the difference we make to most of our students. We were reminded of this last weekend when we were invited by an ex-student to the release of his latest fashion collection as part London Fashion Week Men’s. Nicholas Daley works as a menswear designer and, as well as his fourth year at London Fashion Week Men’s, he’s in the finals for the prestigious International Woolmark Prize. Just remember that the work we do with students, particularly at GCSE and A Level, can be the small seeds of an amazing journey. See photos on our Facebook page and on the page about Nick on the website.

We’ve been asked to run more courses further North than the Midlands where we’re based. We’re happy to run courses any where in the country but the challenge is to make things cost effective when it’s not close to home. As we have family in Liverpool we’re going to use this more as a venue to keep costs down. I know this still won’t be far enough North for everyone but it’s a start! The list below includes the new Liverpool courses, as well as some in Burnley and York, and if there’s sufficient demand we’ll put on more.
