2019 MIPS Requirements

  • Be sure to review the MIPS Requirements for 2019 to ensure a successful performance this year. To learn more including key differences between Year 2 and Year 3 requirements, provider eligibility, scoring, thresholds/payment adjustments, data submission and performance category requirements, visit our MIPS resource page.

Promoting Interoperability Requirements

  • To ensure your successful participation, be sure to also review the 2019 requirements for Promoting Interoperability. This includes using EHR technology certified to the 2015 Edition certification criteria, a minimum 90 consecutive day period, a Security Risk Analysis is performed within the performance period calendar year and the provider has reported on all the required measures across all 4 objectives. Note that there is also a new requirement for the public health reporting objective. For more information, click here.

MIPS Assistance

  • The MIPS Assistance program provides your practice with a dedicated STI MIPS Coach to help the your clinicians work towards meeting the goals for MIPS. Working with the clinicians and staff, the MIPS coach will assist in the process of transforming the practice from one focused on volume of services, to one based on quality of services to meet the MIPS requirements for 2019. Quality Reporting Registry 

  • The STI Quality Reporting Registry (STI MIPSPRO) will allow MIPS Eligible Clinicians (ECs) to report their MIPS quality measures with ease. ECs can track their progress throughout their MIPS performance period and make any necessary corrections before submitting their data. In addition to performance and quality reports, you will also have access to detailed raw patient and visit data to view how each measure is met per visit. To enroll, visit our website

Acquisition of Newtown Professional Billing

STI is pleased to announce that on January 1, 2019, we merged with Newtown Professional Billing in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. This is STI’s fifth acquisition in the last 3½ years. We intend to continue the growth of our RCM Division as physicians and office managers have begun to see the advantage of having a professional staff who can keep up with the ever-changing requirements of billing and A/R follow-up in the complex environment of medical revenue cycle management. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Remittance Change

Effective February 1, 2019, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will no longer offer providers the payment option enabling them to receive a paper check, paper remittance and electronic remittance (835).  As of February 1, the payment options will be Paper check/paper remittance or an EFT/835 issued by InstaMed®, an independent health-care payment network that partners with the Health Plan.
