Volunteer Corner

  • We are looking for volunteers to help with the FSA infrastructure testing January 23, 2019. It will last 30-40 minutes.  You must be approved to volunteer for 18/19.  Thank you!

3rd Quarter Blazing Bolts Run Club for 1st-5th Grade

The Blazing Bolts Running Club will be a fun way to have your student(s) learn about running as well as give them time to socialize with their friends in a safe, friendly environment.  During our events your children will learn the value of exercise, collect prizes for their accomplishments, and, most importantly, be able to have fun with their friends.  Each student that signs up will receive a Blazing Bolts dri-fit t-shirt and be able to participate in the end of quarter "party" where other prizes for exemplary performances will be handed out. 

Requirements needed before attending first day of club:

  1. 1st -5th grade registration and payment click HERE
  2. Current FHSAA Sports Physical Form on file with the main office, they are valid for 365 days from date of Dr. signature.  This is not the same as a regular yearly physical.  The sports physicals can be completed in a very fast, inexpensive manner at many local walk in clinics such as CVS or Medi-Express.  Email an electronic copy to administration@lutzprep.org or turn in a copy to the office (please keep a copy for your personal records).

Bolts of Blue Non-Uniform Day
Sponsorship Levels of Synergize ($300) and Above OR Students May Donate $6
 

Please read carefully, this is NOT AN ALL STUDENT dress down day.

Students whose sponsorship levels reached the Synergize Package ($300) and above have a non-uniform day on Wednesday, January 16th.  Homeroom teachers will be given Synergize Level and above rosters to validate those students who were awarded this non-uniform day.  

Additional Students May Still Participate!
Any student(s) still wishing to participate in this non-uniform day can turn in their donation of $6.00 to their teacher on Wednesday, January 16th.  Funds will apply to Bolts of Blue Campaign

2019-20 School Year:  Preschool at Lutz Pre-Prep
Intent to Register Form for preschool will be available beginning January 8th and will be due to the preschool office by January 14th at 3:00 PM

  • January 8, 2019 - January 14, 2019:  Current Charter K-8 families must submit an Intent to Register form to the Pre-Prep Office.  Deadline:  January 14, 2019 @ 3:00 PM
  • Charter K-8 families must submit an Intent to Register form to the Lutz Pre-Prep office by January 14, 2019 at 3:00 PM.  Forms will be available in the Pre-Prep office beginning January 8, 2019.  These families will be randomly chosen and notified via email or phone to register on January 15th & 16th.  In the event there are more Charter K-8 families who wish to register than spots available, the remaining families will be put on the wait list.

2019-20 School Year:  Lutz Preparatory School K-8 Intent to Return for All Current K-7th Grade Students
Below is a link to the Intent to Return Online Form that we send each year prior to our enrollment lottery.  You will be required to complete two additional intents in the future:  one at end of the school year and one mid-summer.  The completion of these forms 3 times each year is required by all current families to continue your enrollment at Lutz Preparatory.  Confirming each student's intent (to return or to transfer to another school) will allow us to accurately account for our 2019-20 student enrollment.  
  • You must complete ONE Intent to Return form for EACH STUDENcurrently enrolled at Lutz Preparatory School in grades K-7.  Eighth grade students do not need this form completed as they are transitioning to high school.
  • You will need your student's 7 digit Hillsborough County ID to complete this form.  If you do not know your student's ID please send an email to admissions@lutzprep.org to request it.  
  • Deadline for submission is Thursday, January 17, 2019 at midnight.  
Any family who does not complete this form will be contacted individually to confirm their intent for the next school year.  Please save us time and complete the online form by the deadline.
Do You Have Children Not Currently Enrolled at Lutz Preparatory K-8?
Do you have additional children NOT CURRENTLY ENROLLED enrolled at Lutz Preparatory K-8 that you would like to enroll in the 2019-20 school year?  All students NOT CURRENTLY ATTENDING Lutz Preparatory K-8 must apply via our enrollment lottery.  Please see the Admissions tab of our website for full details.

Parents, please make sure you are ordering the correct school, the K-8 public charter school has a different yearbook than the preschool with different order codes.  

ONLINE ORDERS ONLY, no checks or cash will be accepted at any time for yearbook sales.

"Read" It Forward Book Drive
In the spirit of our school's "Pay It Forward" initiative, Ava A. (7th grade) and our Lutz Prep Library will be hosting a book drive.  Please bring new or gently used books to the Media Center to donate to the Sullivan Partnership/Metropolitan Ministries.  The books may be for Toddlers through Middle School levels (no adult level books, please).  We will begin the book drive on Wednesday, January 16th and end on Friday, March 8th.  We will collect, sort and deliver the books before Spring Break so all the area children will have some great reading during their time away from school.

Please take this time to do a little book "Spring Cleaning" and "Read" It Forward!   Presented by:  Ava A. and Mrs. O'Sullivan, Library Coordinator

  • Bricks 4 Kidz is back and this spring semester will be our most creative yet! We have BRAND NEW themes and builds this semester! Students will learn all about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math through LEGO® bricks and our signature model builds. Learn about engineering and technology by building our LEGO® robots, artistic symmetry by creating our LEGO® mosaic portraits, and art sculpture and architecture by building one of our LEGO® 3D models. Fun themes such as LEGO® Roblox, LEGO® City Adventure, The LEGO® Movie 2, LEGO® Fortnite, and other elements from pop culture will be used to teach our students a whole new way to explore and create with LEGO® bricks! And by signing up, you will receive a discount on one of our Summer 2019 Summer Camps!

Color Wheelz, After School Art Program
We are excited to start a new session on January 18th! 
This Friday will be week 4 and students will take their paintings home after class. We will be painting a Swan.  CLICK HERE to register!

Full Schedule:

  • Mondays:  3:30-4:30 PM - Middle School Drama Club, ages 11 & up 
    Students will develop skills in singing, dancing, and acting. They will perform in the spring musical, "High School Musical."Why High School Musical? Aside from it's large cast size, we have the right personalities to pull off this up-beat and oh-so-catchy musical!
  • Tuesdays:  3:30-4:30 PM - Musical Theatre Jazz Dance,  ages 6 & up 
    Students will learn the basics of jazz technique and learn a jazz routine for the Spring Recital.
  • Wednesdays:  3:30-4:30 PM - Musical Theatre, ages 6-10 
    Students will develop skills in singing, dancing, and acting. They will perform in the spring musical, "Seussical."
  • Thursdays:  3:30-4:30 PM - Musical Theatre, ages 6-10
    Students will develop skills in singing, dancing, and acting. They will perform in the spring musical, "Seussical."
  • Thursdays:  3:30-4:15 PM - Broadway Babies, ages 3-5
    The Broadway Babies will gain an introduction to the basics of acting, singing, and dancing. They will perform in the spring musical, "Seussical."
  • Fridays:  3:30-4:30 PM - Ballet 1, ages 6-10
    Students will learn the basics of ballet technique and learn a ballet routine for the Spring Recital.

PTA Box Top Program

January is off to a great start!  Box Tops has their next big submission deadline coming up, March 1st The PTA is working hard to get an exciting competition approved that would combine the months of January and February for collections.  Details coming soon! 

Congratulations to Mrs. Binkley's class for winning the travelling trophy for collecting 551 box tops in December!  

Please follow these simple steps to help make our collection drive run smoothly:

  1. Neatly cut and sort your Box Tops and place into baggies or print a fun collection sheet from HERE and adhere the Box Tops.
  2. Place your child's name and homeroom teacher's name on the baggie or collection sheet so that he/she receives credit.
  3. Baggies can be dropped off in the collection mailbox in the front lobby or with your homeroom teacher.  

Leader in Me Training Seminars for Parents Starting Again at the End of January
RSVP Required to Reserve Your Spot

Please join other LP Parents in a Leader in Me 7 Habits Seminar (4 sessions) to help families reinforce what is being learned in the classroom.  Sessions begin January and run through mid-March.  Space is limited so please check your schedule and sign up as soon as possible.  We are kindly asking that ONLY ONE parent per family sign up to allow as many as possible to attend, parents should sign up for 4 sessions so they can learn about all 7 habits.  Click HERE to reserve your spot.  Hours at seminar will count towards your required volunteer hours for the year.
