In celebration of Black History Month, OMED/AAMI will host its second Academic Empowerment Fair to recognize, support, and enhance Black Excellence on Georgia Tech's campus. The 2019 Academic Empowerment Fair will be held on February 7, 2019 in the Georgia Tech Student Center.  

Students will have an opportunity to:

  • Meet and interview with corporate reps between 12-2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. (earn a chance to win a $350 empowerment monetary grant)
  • Receive one-to-one undergraduate and graduate advisement (earn chances to receive free registration and air travel to NSBE National Convention)
  • Innovation Prototype & Entrepreneurship session and competition (win $500 monetary award) 
  • Meet GT Faculty of Color (outside of the classroom)- with free dinner  (Special AEF performance and recognition grants will be awarded) 
  • Attend the Resource and Organization Fair between 12 - 2 p.m. (earn give-aways and apply for $500 travel grants to a professional/organization conference of your choice)
  • Two deserving participants will be eligible to receive a new Academic Empowerment Grant

Seeking student help for Take Back the Night 2019!

Each year, the Women’s Resource Center and VOICE co-host Take Back the Night in April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Take Back the Night is a candlelight vigil dedicated to honoring survivors of sexual violence and educating the campus community about sexual violence issues.

This year, Take Back the Night is scheduled for Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at the Campanile (rain location: Student Center Ballroom). 2019 will be the 25th year of this powerful event at Georgia Tech.

We need your help! The WRC and VOICE are looking for a Student Chair to serve on our planning to committee to make this event happen. Prior attendance at the event is not required. For more details and to apply, please complete the interest application here:

Edge introduces incoming students to available resources on campus, establishes a network base with returning students, and aids them in achieving their academic goals.
