Take a Journey on the Alcan
Living in Alaska makes it a just a little bit harder to get to what we call the "Lower 48." I marvel that one can leave New York City and easily cross three state borders by the end of the day. In Alaska, just to get out of the state from Anchorage will be 427 road miles to the border with Canada. To reach the state of Washington, you would need to travel at least 2,197 road miles. That's several long days on the road just to get back to our own country!
I have driven or ridden between the continental USA and Alaska 8 times. This is nothing compared to many of my fellow native Alaskans! It is an odyssey of open country, mountains, untamed rivers and wildlife. A journey on the Alcan Highway is a journey back in time, to a place where mother nature reigns and civilization as we know it barely clings to the landscape.
Our North to Alaska Adventure offers riders a chance to experience this epic journey north. It is an escape from the norm as you reach farther and farther, and with that comes the vast landscape full of beauty, beasts, and peace and quiet. You will leave a country in the throws of springtime and end in a place of eternal sunlight.
Along the way, our riders have seen all sorts of wildlife along the side of the road, including Big Horn Sheep, Caribou, Moose, Buffalo, and Bears – up to 30 one year! Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime ride, and get ready to experience what most people never will: millions of acres of uninterrupted pristine nature, in all its magnificence!
