Spotlight on Orange County

The County of Orange is closing out a retrocommissioning (RCx) project at its 30,000+ square foot Tustin Branch Library. Although the project hit a few roadblocks since kicking off in 2015—including flooding damage that caused the library to close for a year, requiring energy efficiency measures to be re-implemented in 2018—the project is now on track to save an estimated 60,000 kWh annually and receive over $25,000 in SCE incentives and on-bill financing.

Since its enrollment in the SoCalREN Public Agency Program in 2013, the County of Orange has saved over 1 million kWh and 2,800 therms through energy efficiency projects with the Program. They’ve also secured over $750,000 in on-bill financing. The Tustin Library is just one of Orange County’s exciting projects, and SoCalREN looks forward to continuing to work side-by-side with the agency to identify and accomplish energy efficiency projects!

Energy Service Company (ESCO) Project Support: Featured SoCalREN Service

Public agencies are often approached by outside parties, such as energy service companies (ESCOs), to implement energy projects or participate in energy savings programs. The SoCalREN Public Agency Programs provide objective, third party expertise to give agencies peace-of-mind that they are implementing the best measures to maximize energy cost savings.

SoCalREN works in coordination with an ESCO project process every step of the way. Highlights of our support to agencies are shown below, and can be customized to fit each agency’s needs. Contact your SoCalREN Project Manager to learn more!
