Dear Members

We have recently received two requests from local charities looking for a volunteer treasurer to assist them with some duties and these are as below -

Caring Cooks

Caring Cooks’ mission is to empower children and young people in Jersey to grow, cook and eat healthy food in childhood and beyond.  We do this by funding and providing Kitchen Gardens and Let’s Get Cooking Programmes in a number of primary schools across Jersey.  We also provide a weekly meal service for families in times of hardship, allowing them to sit down at least once a week to share a meal as a family.   If you would like to find out more, please get in touch or visit our website at:https://www.caringcooksofjersey.com/.

We are looking to get our annual accounts audited on a pro bono basis to support us with fundraising.  If you feel that you are able to support us with this or would like further information, please contact Stuart Gardner at sgardner1@uk.ey.com.

Jersey Hospice Care

Jersey Hospice Care is seeking a local bookkeeping provider to assist with bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable services, as well as any further ad hoc accounting tasks which may arise, over the short the medium term from 1 January 2019.

A brief summary of the services required includes:

  • Raising invoices upon instruction and monitoring receipt of payment through the bank account (approximately 10-15 invoices per month)
  • Bookkeeping the receipt of funds
  • Bookkeeping accounts payable upon receipt of invoices (approximately 150 invoices per month)
  • Preparing payments on online banking module
  • Bookkeeping investment portfolios x 2
  • Bookkeeping shop takings (2 shops)
  • GST returns
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Bookkeeping donations/fundraising income

Our preference would be to acquire services on an hourly basis and estimate that we will require 5-10 hours per week, however this may vary according to activity. We would be able to provide access to the necessary systems and therefore the majority of these hours could be worked remotely.

Given our charitable status, we are keen to find a supplier who is able to provide services at a reduced rate.

If you are interested in getting involved please contact Rachel Vibert at rachelvibert@jerseyhospicecare.com

Regards

Caroline Harrington
