A wonderful effort and huge congratulations to all of the community groups, councils, and other organisations from across the west who took part in the project!

You can watch a short video celebrating this achievement.

LOCAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING POINTS
Local residents and electric vehicle enthusiasts can now find two EV charging points available at AAKonsult, 2/209 Hyde St and Paint Stop, at 15 Geelong St West Footscray.
For AAKonsult, encouraging the adoption of Electric Vehicles (EV) is an initiative close to their heart. Electric vehicles improve the health of all citizens, will lessen the impact on climate change and reduces noise pollution.
With all these benefits in mind, AAKonsult have made a charge point available to the general public free of charge (fair use policy applies). For the technically minded, this is a 3 phase, 16amp type 2 charge point that adds up to 55km of range per hour. AAKonsult are also running a 7.2kw Solar system to provide clean energy for charging and soon this will be supported with a Tesla Powerwall battery.
AAKonsult are an 8-minute walk to the Yarraville village, so owners can grab a coffee, lunch or watch a movie whilst charging.

Visit My Electric Car for more information.

My Smart Garden

The My Smart Garden program is a sustainable gardening program managed by three local councils in inner west Melbourne – Moonee Valley, Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong. We strive to build the resilience of local people living with a changing climate and scarcer resources.
Since 2011, our program has grown a network of over 1500 urban gardeners who are now gardening ‘smarter’: that is, harvesting and using water efficiently, growing food, using organic pesticides, recycling wastes and using vegetation to shelter their homes.
Our program aims to deliver training, provides best-practice gardening resources and build community connections around sustainable urban gardening.
