Hey friends. Jer here.

Wanted to give you a pretty big update on what we're up to now that we're in 2019.

Much has changed in Detroit and in media in general since we started this journey, but what hasn't is our commitment to tell great stories in engaging ways.

So, FIRST, what we've completely redone our website to focus on our reader and listener. We didn't want to be like other sites around town that auto-played bad videos and gave you junk like "You wouldn't believe what TRUMP/HILLARY did!"  Goodbye the autoplay videos that plague other sites around town. And hello to a clean design that highlights the story and our supporters.

In order to succeed, in order for us to make the case that we truly are local, we must set yourself away from the pack and put you first.

A side note, hat tip to Randy Walker for taking the role I normally play of continually pushing it to be better as we continue to make improvements. If you have feedback, just reply to this email.

SECOND... I can't share all the details yet. But our team will begin to appear starting later this month on broadcast television through a new collaboration. The work will be in-depth and in the vein of the project we did highlighting how I-375 will become a boulevard and the historical context... and bringing parts of our podcast, condensed, to the airwaves. You'll be the first to know when you can see it on your TV.

Our goal is to keep you in the know and give you context that matters, whether it's a story of major importance or telling you about the newest place you're going to want to go with your friends.

THIRD... Thank you. To all of those over the years who have believed in a crazy idea. I know I can speak for everyone who is a part of the project when I say we are humbled to wake up every day and work as a servant to all of you, telling Detroit's story.
You can be a part of this story, too. Your support as a monthly member is key to making Daily Detroit happen. Thanks!
