First of all – thank you for being our friend and supporter over our many years of operation.
2018 has been a big year for the Portland Museum – one full of change and new beginnings, visits from old friends and new, and excitement as we work toward the promise that the future holds.
Secondly, we could really use your help as we close out 2018.
Organizationally, our long-time director, Nathalie Andrews, retired in December 2017 and we’ve been operating with a skeleton crew of passionate volunteers and one employee for the past several months. We recently doubled the size of our board in order to prepare for what’s next as we embark on our search for a new executive director.
We want to make sure our future director has a stable financial environment so they can focus on the things we already do well. Our new director will also be challenged with moving the Museum forward to keep up with the Portland of the future. We are very fortunate – the J. Graham Brown Foundation has offered a challenge matching grant of $25,000 to help us keep up the good work.
We’re asking for your help in meeting that challenge.
We hope you know how much we value your support and how important it is to keeping the Portland Museum open and thriving for the Portland neighborhood and Louisville community. And, we want you to know that we work to be good stewards of every dollar we receive.
