KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
& TOUR DATE CORRECTIONS
Do you have an incoming Kindergartner for the 2019-2010 school year? Or know a neighbor who does?

New Student Registration started on January 7, 2019. The earlier you register your kindergartner, the more accurate enrollment projection will be for the school district. Please encourage other kindergarten families to register early. All enrollment will be online.

Here is what you'll need to make sure registration runs smoothly (exceptions are made for families in transition).
  • Parent or guardian photo ID
  • Child’s passport or birth certificate
  • Two (2) proofs of home address dated within past eight (8) weeks
  • Child’s immunization (shots) record

Kindergarten Tours: DATE CORRECTIONS

The dates posted in the last newsletter were incorrect. You will find the corrected dates and information about the upcoming tours below.

Evening Tour—Wednesday, February 6th at 6pm
This evening tour includes presentations from our Principal and PTA, time for parent questions, and a quick visit to a kindergarten classroom. This tour is intended for adults.

Daytime Tour—Friday, February 8th at 8:30am
This daytime tour is your chance to see our school in action. This tour starts with a brief Principal and PTA welcome, includes a guided tour of our building with quick visits to a few sample classrooms, and ends with time for parent questions. This tour is adults only.

LAWTON AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS: SPRING 2019
The lottery window for after school programs will be open
from Sunday, January 27 (6:00AM) through Thursday, January 31(8:00PM).

  • Classes will start the week of March 4, 2019 and run through June 14, 2019
  • Each family will need to return to (or create) their account at www.6crickets.com to register for classes.
  • Add your child to the waitlist of the classes they are interested in taking. This will enter them into the lottery. **Please note – do not add your child to the waitlist for more than one class on any given day. Adding them to multiple classes on a day will result in child being removed from the lottery process.
  • You will be notified by email from 6crickets no later than February 4 at 8:00 pm as to which classes your child can enroll in. Each class will generate a separate email notification; please allow until 8:00 pm to receive emails.
  • Complete payment for classes “won” in the lottery will be due by Friday, February 8 at 5:00 pm. If you do not pay the balance by this deadline your child’s spot will be released.
  • Second-Chance registration will be open from February 11 at 5:00 pm – February 15 at 5:00 pm (for classes not filled through the lottery process). Second-Chance registration is conducted as first-come, first-served. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Lawton's physical education program is loved by students and parents alike, and in order to provide a variety of activities, volunteers are appreciated! We are starting a committee to help support our PE teachers and the Lawton health and fitness program. Committee members will work with Ms. Volk to help with in-school activities as well as recruit volunteers to help with special events like Field Day 2019!

We need just a couple more volunteers, so if you would like to join our team, please contact Amanda Armes armesamanda@gmail.com for more information. We are looking forward to a fun spring!

LETTERS TO INDIA
Ms. Leache's fourth grade students painted these vibrant watercolor peacocks after being inspired by writing letters to their pen pals in India. At the beginning of the school year, the kids wrote letters to another fourth grade classroom at the Balo English Medium School in Kolkata, India. Ms. Leache has a connection with the region as the founder and president of Balo USA, a nonprofit sister organization to Elisabetta Ravaioli's Balo Onlus NGO that works to support impoverished women, children, and families. Ms. Leache looks forward to volunteering at the Balo English Medium School with her children for a week this August.
