Optional Parent/Teacher Conferences for 2nd Trimester
We will be having an EARLY RELEASE day on Thursday, January 24 in order to schedule any needed Parent/Teacher Conferences. If your child's teacher contacts you to schedule something, it is not optional, but if you would like a chance to touch base with the teacher, we want to make every effort to connect! A note is going home Friday with each family explaining how to sign up for a conference! Is it time for a Team Meeting.
SAVE THE DATE: Pancake Breakfast fundraiser, Saturday, March 30, 2019. Sebastopol Community church. More details to come!
History Day Presentations
Our 4-6th Graders have been diligently researching a history topic and creating posters, websites, and a variety of displays showcasing their efforts for the Annual History Day Projects. You are cordially invited to come and tour the presentations on Thursday, January 30th at 1:30pm. Students will be constructively critiqued by a few select adults so their projects can be even more refined by the time the County History Day competition rolls around. Come see "academic excellence" in action as students proudly display their work! 4-6th graders who know how to cite their sources along with presentation skills are being prepared for the rigors of junior high and beyond! Go PUMAs!
Missions Month: Focus on Europe
This Wednesday we launched our focus on Missions on the Continent of Europe. We were able to connect (via video phone) with William and Larisa Hernandez, doing missions work in Europe right now with many Europe's refugees. When we asked him how we could pray for them, he told us his family is hoping to secure a home base in Europe somewhere. It has been a struggle to find something adequate and he is open to whatever the Lord provides as he confesses that God never promises us homes. He also asked that we pray for boldness and a deep love for those God directs him to as he shares the good news of the gospel. Let's keep the Hernandez family in our prayers for the coming year!
Re-Enrollment Meetings
Originally scheduled for the week of the 21st, we are having our re-enrollment meetings with Mrs. See the last week of January. Mrs. See wants to connect with each family about their plans for next year. You will be receiving an online sign up and you can pick your time.
After School Piano Lessons with Miss Joy Byars has started Monday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30. Please call the office to get more information.
The Lord was very gracious to us during this week of rain. We had almost every single recess outside. Parents, remember to send your child with rain boots and raincoats on days when it looks like it's going to rain. If they are prepared, they love to be outside in the rain. And the teachers love it too! :-). Mrs. R captured a sweet little picture of the rain boots drying out by the fireplace. ❤️
Music classes kicked off some applied music theory this week on instruments! The older students tuned up their ukuleles and the younger students practiced basic music theory on the xylobells.
