2019 has got off to a busy start..

Green Light on £11m Major Funding Boost for Watford General

It’s a real pleasure to wish all residents of Watford a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Here’s to a great 2019!

Thanks to extra Government funding, two new mental health support teams will be set up in Hertfordshire, designed to support children and young people with mental health conditions, by working alongside schools and colleges.
Congratulations to Daania from Chater Junior School who is the winner of my local school’s art competition. We had over 100 entries from six local schools and I was so impressed by the high quality of the work and the creativity shown! This week I welcomed the winner and her family to Parliament for a Tour and Tea.
Thanks to everyone who kindly donated to my appeal on behalf of the National Animal Welfare Trust. I'd been in touch with the local team, who told me they were desperate for food, toys and blankets. We had over 50 donations, meaning that the volunteers can continue to care for rescue pets in Watford.
More Local News...
I recently visited the Charter Place redevelopment, where intu have spent £180m opening 13 new stores & 11 restaurants. It's created hundreds of new jobs in retail, construction and hospitality.
Fantastic morning supporting Watford Mencap in the Santa Dash. Great to see so many runners taking part to raise money for a good cause. It was also a pleasure to start the race as I do every year.
On Boxing Day,  I enjoyed cheering on Watford at Vicarage Road. It wasn't the result we wanted but the boys played well and it was a great atmosphere!
