SPOTLIGHT ON PUBLICATIONS
This weeks Spotlight is a must read in the build up to the centenary of the first sitting of the Dáil on the 21st of January. Originally published in 1921 and republished here on fully-searchable CD-Rom are the Minutes of the Proceedings. This fascinating and valuable historical document, presented in Irish & English, is an historical record of the initial hopes and aspirations of the founders of the first Dáil. It should not be forgotten that the first Dáil was illegal and sat while Ireland was still under the rule of Westminster politicians and Dublin Castle administration.
