·         Connecting the Next Generation of Landowners & Producers
·         Flexible lease arrangements for managing risk & long-term lease relationships
·         Strategies for Transitioning your Family’s Farm to the Next Generation
 
There is no cost to attend and refreshments will be provided.  Producers and landowners are encouraged to attend!

BQA Training for Producers, Staff and Volunteers

 

You are invited to a producer, staff, volunteer training on Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) offered by Patrick Wall, Beef Field Specialist.   The training is open to any producers, staff and volunteers wanting to be certified and/or gain more knowledge of the requirements for marketing cattle and how it relates to your county fair and 4H/FFA beef projects. 

 

The training will be offered Monday, February 18, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Washington County Extension Office.   Please email me of your intent to attend the training so I can convey to Patrick the number of potential attendees so he can have the materials on hand.    This training is FREE to all who attend.

 

Register by emailing me at mohling@iastate.edu  or calling or texting 319-330-4681.   Please include producers, staff and/or volunteers if there are other registrants beside yourself!!  Please include names, county, staff/volunteer/producer.

Thank you everyone for supporting us!! Our 4-H Soup Supper Event was a huge success breaking yet another record. Even on a cold night, Louisa County represents well. Our Dessert Auction brought in $6,935 last weekend. The raffle of the grill and the meat bundle= $2,785 and the soup supper = $1,140!!! Grand total—a record setting $10,860!! Way to go Louisa County 4-H!!! These funds will be used to pay the $35 enrollment fee per 4-H member as well as fund club mini grants and provide scholarships to graduating and alumni 4-H members. Again, Thank You all for your support of Louisa County 4-H!

We regret to inform everyone that the winery is unable to accompany us this Friday night due to the snow and ice. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you are all able to join us when we reschedule the event. A date has not yet been set but we are doing are best to plan

Please remember to carefully select from an approved recipe source and make sure to follow the proper preparation methods for all of your ingredients. We want everyone to have a fun and successful fair experience. Please review and follow the reference guide to ensure your recipe's qualification as a fair exhibit. We all want the same thing for our fellow Iowans as we do for our Iowa farms, to flourish. When we invest time and effort in ourselves, we continue to grow and develop, as do crops. Then, together, we are all much stronger and more attractive, just like a healthy and prosperous yield.
