What happens to the charter boats in the winter?
Major maintenance is being done. 1 by 1 the boats are hauled out and get new antifouling. All different other jobs are done on the underwater ship. In addition, the engine gets a big maintenance. If the interior is damaged it gets a new layer of varnish, sails are checked, winches are cleaned and greased etc. A very long list of jobs for all charter boats. In winter, more people work for the charter companies than in the summer.
If you want to sail in the winter, you can do so around the
Canary Islands or the
Caribbean or other exotic destinations where the temperature is pleasant.
It is also possible to sail in the Mediterranean in the winter, but then we recommend a boat with a heater.
