This week, a small but mighty group of college students learned about the history of buddy gray and his determination to create affordable housing and a low-barrier shelter in Cincinnati. They also spent some time selling Streetvibes, getting a first-hand experience of panhandling. Many lessons learned!

Relationships are critical to our individual survival and wellbeing. Can you imagine being separated from your loved one for 4 decades?

Update on some commonly asked questions - indoor cat, not declawed, Could be around one cat or one dog but can be a little temperamental. Could coexist with other animals with experienced foster.

Original post - The IHNGC Pet Program is in need of a foster home for Snowflake! Her owner is experiencing homelessness and Snowflake has been in our kennels for too long! She will do much better in a home until she can be reunited with her owner. Snowflake is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She does not get along well with other dogs/cats and can be a little temperamental. We expect her to calm down in a home setting. If you are interested in fostering, please contact Garrett Parsons, our Pet Program Coordinator at garrett@ihncincinnati.org for more details or comment below. Thanks for your support!

Big thanks to St. Xavier High School student John Shelton and IT class instructor, Ray Heyob, for installing a projector system where we can now project out knife cuts and cooking techniques during Cooking for the Family on the wall while we teach! Whoo hoo!! We are making it even easier to learn how to cook healthy and affordable for your family!!

Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency added an event.

CAA is conducting a community assessment to better understand how low- and moderate-income Cincinnati and Hamilton County residents are doing, where they are being supported, where they face challenges, and where there are opportunities to things differently that might help improve their lives.
Community Forums will bring together clients, service providers and partners, community members, and CAA staff to create a collective call to action for the next three years. This call to action will define how CAA, partners, and the community can all better support low- and moderate-income Cincinnati and Hamilton County residents.
We need your voice at the table to create a call to action!

This Sunday, join us for our Second Sunday Lunch (around noon) after worship - and then stay for the Clifton Cultural Arts Center performance of "Martin's Dream!"

This luncheon presentation takes place at 12:00 noon, Thursday January 17th, Christ Church Cathedral Forum Room (Third Floor), 318 East Fourth Street.https://mailchi.mp/…/councilman-david-mann-and-county-commi…

Mark your calendars for Friday, January 25th for End Slavery Cincinnati's annual anti-human trafficking conference.

Mark your calendar! Sunday, January 27, 11:00 worship followed by a free spaghetti and meatballs dinner, 12:00, donated, prepared and served by Pastor Brian. What’s the occasion? First’s average Sunday worship attendance in 2018 grew by more than 10%. That means free spaghetti. On the last Sunday of the year our 52 week average of 59 surpassed 15% from 2017! That means meatballs! Bring a friend too. Christmas Eve was a great sign that the momentum is strong. Our attendance jumped from 75 to 135. For those who have a difficult time accepting something for free donations can be made to support our Welcome and Accessibility Center Fund.
