On Friday, February 8, thousands of people across the metro region will grab their bikes and try a new way to get to work. Last year, the Denver region placed second in the International Bike to Work Day, and we're excited to help motivate more commuters to the joys (and bragging rights) of winter bicycle commuting.
Participants will need to register on the International event website once it's live, which will include information about stations. Smart Commute will be at the Northglenn station (at the Recreation Center building, just west of our summer station).
Nervous about biking in the winter? With a little extra planning, it is a mode you can add to your repertoire. Check out our tips on the Smart Commute website.

Smart Commute's cosmopolitan swag!
For last year's Winter Bike to Work Day, an international exchange care package carrying a Smart Commute umbrella made it all the way to participants in Europe. The happy recipient tested it out and posted images on social media.
|

|
Smart Commute is a board-governed non-profit, and we work hard to serve the most people we can. We are grateful to be partners with Way to Go and RTD, and we are happy to help promote the services they offer our north metro communities.
We are so proud to have 39 other organizations as partners and members. Their support helps us do more: offer more trial rides on RTD, staff more employer events to help form carpools, and develop more educational services for our community.

Smart Commute is pleased to be in a reciprocity agreement with a great local organization: DRMAC, the Denver Region Mobility and Access Council. More information about DRMAC resources, programs, and events can be found on their website or Smart Commute's programs page.
Smart Commute constantly refers community members to DRMAC's Getting There Guide, which simplifies the often mystifying search for local transportation providers for those with special needs, and for older adults. This guide is extremely helpful to us and those we serve in our community, especially when we are at local events in the summer.

Smart Commute is excited to announce our newest Marketing and Program Manager, Carson Priest! A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Carson graduated from Furman University with a bachelors in political science and went on to complete his masters in public administration from American University.
Carson comes to Smart Commute with both political and policy experience through his work on various political campaigns, including the 2018 Proposition 110 legislative effort to increase funding for Colorado’s transportation system. Carson has carried his passion for effective and forward-thinking transportation policy solutions with him throughout his career and will continue to pursue that passion in the metro north area. He lives in Lakewood and enjoys pursuing all things outdoors with his fiancée.
