WaterFire Providence

Dear Friend,

We write to you today with news of a significant change occurring at WaterFire later this month and an invitation to join us to celebrate an extraordinary WaterFire career and exciting new adventures that lay ahead for one of our key leaders over the past 14 years.

Bronwyn Dannenfelser, WaterFire Providence's director of resource development, recently advised us that she would be moving into a new chapter in her life - "one which will take me on many wonderful travels and have me relocating to other parts of the country."  Over the past 14 years, Bronwyn has worked incredibly hard at building a sponsorship portfolio, often during challenging economic times, that made the WaterFire season possible and helped the organization to grow to where we are today. Second only to Barnaby, she's been the ever present smiling face of WaterFire to sponsors, donors, on the Rhode Show and throughout the community. We are extremely grateful for all she's done over the years and excited about what her future holds.

We are currently conducting a search for a manager of sponsorships and corporate relations which will be a new position to work in partnership with Connie Kile, WaterFire Providence's philanthropy manager. The job description is attached in case you know anyone who would be interested in helping us write the next exciting chapter of WaterFire's story.

In the interim, Anja Josuweit, development associate and I will be leading WaterFire's sponsorship efforts for the 2019 season and WaterFire Arts Center. Additionally, WaterFire Providence board member Mark Scott will be working with us on 2019 sponsorships.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to either of us at any time. My cell phone is 401.639.2099.

INVITATION: On January 17 at 6 PM at the WaterFire Arts Center, we invite you to join us to recognize Bronwyn's many accomplishments over her WaterFire career and wish her well on her next adventure. Please RSVP anja@waterfire.org if you are able to join us and send along a message that we can deliver to Bronwyn, if you can't be with us in person.

Transitions provide opportunity and we look forward to following Bronwyn on her next adventure. We are also excited to welcome aboard a new team member to help us make WaterFire stronger as we celebrate 25 years since the first lighting downtown and continue to develop the WaterFire Arts Center as a unique arts and culture hub for all Rhode Islanders.

As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns about the transition underway, or any other matter, please don't hesitate to call (401.636.2099) email or stop in my office at anytime.

   Sincerely,

   Peter A. Mello
