Happy New Year!

Hi, everyone! I hope all of you had a great Christmas, an enjoyable Winter Break, and are having a happy new year so far!

Tomorrow is a big day at church, with a chance to hear youth group alum Marissa Alaniz share about her work with our Nicaraguan mission partner, AMOS Health & Hope, and then our long-awaited opportunity to go see 80% of the Morgan family in the Ann Arbor Civic Theatre production of Oliver! It's going to be a full and fun day. Please read on to make sure you know the logistics of how our time together tomorrow will work.

Here is our morning schedule tomorrow:

  • 10:00a - worship
  • 11:00a - fellowship time (Fellowship Hall)
  • 11:30a-12:30p - AMOS presentation by Marissa Alaniz (Memorial Lounge)
We will resume youth group Church School next week, Sunday, January 20.

Oliver!: I bought our tickets for the performance well in advance (back around Thanksgiving) to make sure we could have seats together and also not risk the tickets selling out. I bought tickets for individuals and families who requested them, but there may be others of you who would like to attend now. If you do not see your name on this list but would like to come, please let me know right away. There are still tickets available and I will purchase them (paid for by our youth program funds) for anyone who would like to come. Here is who I have tickets for:
  • Bingham family - 5
  • Duke family - 3
  • Halliday family - 4
  • Kerschbaum family - 3
  • Rayner family - 4
  • Redinger family - 4
  • Thompson family - 2
  • Marissa and Christina Alaniz - 2
If there are any of you who would like to go but do not see your name on the list, please let me know right away and I will grab some more tickets.

The show is playing at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre in the Michigan League (just down the street from the church) at 2:00p tomorrow afternoon. You can either get your tickets from me at church tomorrow morning and we will just see you in the theatre, or you can meet me in the church parking lot at 1:45 and we can walk to the theatre together.

Winter Break assignment: in our last Church School class of 2018, I invited the youth to each pick a Psalm that speaks to them in some way. I encouraged them to discuss this with their families, especially if they need help finding a Psalm that seems relevant to their lives. I'm looking forward to hearing from the youth next Sunday (the 20th) about the Psalm they found!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

love,
Stacey
A HUGE thank you to Max Halliday for
helping out with Vespers this past week - and bringing a friend!
