Mayfair Farm
Happy New Year, everyone! Our resting period is over and we are back to work. There are seed orders to be done, greenhouse work on the list, pruning to be accomplished, and all those daily chores which can fill the whole day. In addition, this year Gene and I are facing a period of time with no help. Miguel left for Mexico this moring. He will be there for an undetermined length of time while he completes the requirements for legalizing his immigrant status in the United States. Until he returns, hopefully in two months or less, Gene will be responsible for all the outside work and picking of greens in the greenhouses. Pruning the blackberries is high on his list, and beginning work on the apricots. I will be very limited for some weeks, because I am having a total knee replacement on January 15. I will not be present at the Tuesday markets for a few weeks, but my sons will cover the Saturday market hours. Please continue to support The Haven and Rooster Dirt on Tuesdays. Jess and Logan will be bringing their pastured chicken and all those glorious mushrooms for you. Kathy will have a nice selection of beef and pork, including roasts for slow cooking, sausage, burger, pork chops and steaks. If you are a milk share holder of Hedgebrook Farm, you can still pick up your milk, AND RETURN YOUR JARS, weekly to Kathy. She will handle this until I return. We understand this makes shopping difficult for some of you. However, it is the only way we could schedule these necessary events with the least disruption in growing, picking and marketing. I am sorry I cannot give you a definite return date for Mayfair Farm to the Tuesday market. Please feel free to contact me with the reply button on this newsletter if you need anything special. We will be glad to work out a way to get your orders to you.
