Do you have a word for the year? Mine if 'FUN'!
This week, we are discussing:

What's your word for the year?

Do you have a theme for 2019?

Like 2019 - Fun and inspiration on Facebook

As the new year has clicked over and many of us are back in to work mode do you have a theme that you would like this year to reflect? I'll admit I've never really been into themes before but this year my Facebook feed seems full of it. It got me thinking...when I get to the end of the year what would I like to say about this year? I'd like to say it was fun.

Fun is something the last few years have been missing in any quantity that would make it the theme for the year. Sure, I've had fun at times, but overall the last few years have felt like hard work. So this year I'm determined to include the things I find fun in much more abundance.

Everyone is different and my idea of fun will likely be different to yours. Here are some of my most fun things to do.

Road trips - generally unplanned and either alone or with a friend. This year already I've been on a couple of roadtrips. One with a friend and we chatted and sang songs. The second one on my own and I say out loud all the way.

Singing - I used to have much more music in my life. The radio or my ipod was always on. In the last year though I haven't listened to much music at all. I've listened to a lot of podcasts and audio books but very little music. This year I'm planning on listening to a lot more music (and singing along if it has vocals).

Dancing - I love a good dance on a night out with friends. The problem since I moved here was a don't have dance buddies like I did when I lived in Perth. I've been on a couple of nights out lately to live bands and while that is fun I prefer clubs. I tend to have a brain that never stops and find that going clubbing helps to at least quiet it for a little while.

Running workshops - Again this is something I love to do and while I get to do it for my work I'd love to do more of the topics I enjoy. I love deciding on a topic, researching it, putting it all together and then presenting it. Workshops I'd love to get back to running this year include 'Feminine Evolution', 'NLP for Everyday Living', 'Say What' as well as the ones that cover all topics of business.

Interviews - when I was a young mum at the age of 18 I worked for a local newspaper for a few years as a journalist. I loved all aspects of journalism but especially enjoyed doing the human interest stories. I love hearing about why people do what they do and their stories. This year I will once again get back to this and be putting together a podcast series. I came across an interview I did a few years ago before my 'earth father' passed and loaded it up online. It's not been edited at all and so it's rough but I loved listening to his stories of his early years. If you would like to listen to it you can do so here.  In a couple of weeks I will be interviewing a man who is practicing natural farming here in Victoria. I'll share that one with you when it's ready. If you know someone who has an interesting story that is share worthy please get in touch.

Speaking - I love nothing more than sharing my story and strategies with others that might benefit from hearing it. I've tried doing Facebook live videos but it's not fun for me. Sometimes it's OK but I enjoy the interaction that comes from speaking to people in real life. This year I'd like to share from stages or the front of the room. If you have an audience and are looking for a speaker please get in touch.

I'd love to hear from you about what your theme is for the year if you have one. If you'd like some help to get clear on how to get the most out of 2019 get in touch. I offer coaching to individuals and training to groups. You can email to book in for a 10 minute chat to see if we are a good fit. If we aren't I have a large network of coaches that I can refer you to.

have a great week.

Til next time

To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think -- spend some time time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day.
