Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all had a good Christmas.
22nd ANNUAL WINTER SCHOOL: 18-20th January. Once again, we have some of the finest Irish musicians here to teach and perform. The concert takes place in the Couper Institute on the Friday, starting at 7.30pm. Admission Adults £8, Children £3. The concert will feature our 3 bands, tutors and visitors from Gortahork, Donegal. The finale tunes are Kerry Slide and Denis Murphy’s from Book1, so we should have a big band on stage. On Saturday evening, there will be a session in the Redhurst Hotel from 8-10pm. It is open to anyone from secondary age upwards. The workshops take place in Woodfarm school on Saturday and Sunday, 11-1pm then 2-4pm. The cost is £6 per class, £20 for the weekend, with a family maximum of £50. We shall be taking names from tonight.
GLASGOW FEIS: Sunday, 24th February, in Woodfarm. Maura McCormack will be collecting entries from tonight at the desk. £4 per competition. £12 per individual maximum. £24 family maximum. The branch pays the band entries. Admission is free to competitors.
FEIS CEILI BANDS: we have bands in all age-groups. Auditions will take place in Woodfarm for under12A, B, C and also under15A, B, on Saturday, 2nd February. U12’s 1pm and U15’s 2.30. U18 auditions will be on Tuesday, 5th Feb at 7pm. Beginners will be in U12E. Non-beginners in U12D. No auditions required. Tunes will be issued on 22nd January at the class.
