This Week In and Around the Meeting House January 7 - 13, 2019

This Week In and Around the Meeting House

January 7 - 13, 2019
The Children’s Village Orphanage in the Khasi Hills India, where Rev. Linda and Gary spent 2 weeks on their sabbatical, is having their 10th year anniversary celebration in February. The UU Meeting House Crafting Circle has decided to knit 23 scarves for 10 boys and 13 girls. If you are a knitter, please join the fun! We are knitting thin, short scarves as Rev. Linda’s friend, who will be going to the celebration at the orphanage, has limited room in her luggage.

All contributions must be received by Sunday February 10th.

Rev. Linda and Gary will also being making prints of all the photos Gary took of the children. And of course, Rev. Linda cannot help but buy a pair of pink, patent leather shoes for little Alisha (hers have broken buckles) whom she fell in love with and is now sponsoring.

May this day find you considering how to fill the world with more joy in this New Year.

Are you doing something that reflects one of our Seven Principles? Send us a photo for a chance to be featured in our Monday E-Blast!

This Week's Sermon:
"The Dream of Paradise"
Rev. Linda Simmons

Many religions create a god and a devil who square off for all eternity, separate, hostile, doomed. What else might paradise be beyond the absence of evil and how can we contribute, as people made of good and evil, to its realization?
