This January, tips at Grace Ridge Brewing help support the Museum’s educational exhibits, programs, collections care, and community events. Want to support the Pratt even more? Join us on Friday, January 25, from 5-7pm at Grace Ridge Brewing for a Mac and Cheese fundraiser! Come hang out with some great people and chat about some of the Pratt’s “Bottled History" while sampling some lovely, cheesy macaroni. A $10 donation is suggested.

Please join us on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 5-7pm in the auditorium of the Islands & Ocean Visitor Center for the Pratt Museum's Annual Meeting. Executive Director Laurie Stuart will be our presenter this year, giving exciting updates on Museum renovations, re-opening events, and new plans. In addition to updates, we will also have drinks, appetizers, door prizes, mingling with your favorite Museum staff members, and an opportunity to sign up for Hardhat Tours! Don't forget to turn in your ballot, due at the Museum by February 5. Three new Board members are up for election, with results to be announced at the annual meeting. See you there!
Renovation Updates

Oh my! Is it 2019 already? Staff here at the Pratt are excitedly preparing for the action items that need to happen before opening in May, while construction workers plug away at important details like ramp rails, lift infrastructure, and the new entryway! Scott has his hands on not only the layout of where all the exhibits will go in the newly renovated galleries, but also the plans for the special exhibit opening on First Friday in May. Savanna has been measuring where cabinets and collections will be placed, so that as soon as the building is prepped and ready, objects can be moved to their new home locations. Preparations and plans have also started for a Grand Opening Celebration weekend in May, and staff can't wait to share details about that, soon! Keep an ear out for how you can score an awesome Hardhat Tour of renovations in action, and save the dates for May 3 and May 24-26, our Official and Grand Opening days!
If you give, and your neighbor does, and another, it will add up quickly! When you make a donation from your PFD through Pick.Click.Give., you can make an impact by sharing just a little with a cause you care about. The Pratt Museum has been part of the Pick.Click.Give. program since it began in 2009. Donors may give part of their permanent fund dividend to the Pratt through the Pick.Click.Give. website, and help support the Museum's educational programs!
The filing deadline for your Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) application is March 31, 2019. If you have already filed for your PFD, and would like to make a change to your donations, you may do so until August 31, 2019.

Did you guess correctly last month? This is a close-up of PM2002.042.0002, a marine hazard lantern that was placed on the seaward end of a locally-owned fish trap at Bluff Point to warn mariners of the hazard, until fish traps were outlawed.

Can you guess what object(s), artifact(s), or other(s) in Pratt collections this close-up features?
